GTR on the way !!

Oops seems like i laced into my daughter a bit early.
I went out and bought another 256 chip of ddr this morning.I sold my other machine and the other 256 chip with it leaving me only 256 megs of memory to play a game that requires 384 minimum.Not a good thing.After running with 27 people this morning I am happy to say the game works flawless with no glitches now during race.whew.Well I haven't apologized to my daughter yet and won't because her room is a mess so I will ride this one out till she cleans it up.hahaha...might as well wait till after she cleans it to tell her

thats what dads are for LOL

Oh ya and I downloaded the "king of ovals"mod.
Not an easy mod to setup the car for but after an hour or so I was at least not spinning out every lap..LOL...

I ordered my copy today from Amazon.ca, I should receive it near the end of the month as I also ordered some DVDs that were not in stock so that delays things a bit... Not that I would really have time to race GTR before that time anyways!

were you guys playing id like to do some laps with some good drivers and in the f1 cars if you up for it

hey limp, its called CHIMPSTERS, when ya in the lobby, you can check for peps who are online, it also tells you which server they are in, or not.....
mate, give the gt cars a go first, the 1 on 1 battles are amazing, battles you dont get in a f1 sim.... Honest, lol

Same here limpy.
I have the king of ovals mod but not the 2005 mod that chimpster is using.
Had a blast running that anderstorp track in the rain.Man at least the car sticks to the road a bit better than the gtr mod for f1c as well as the wgts mod.Some of these guys post wicked times ...holy smokers...

heres thr 05 mod

its up to you if you follow the README. for a simpler way do this.......

Install 2005MOD to C/GTR, then all you goto do is,
open C/GTR (main directory) look for fiagt2005.BATFile, Click it once, the game will start in 05 mode.......

After playing 05, and you wont to switch to 03, Exit the game, open C/GTR and click the fiagt2003.BATFile, Then start the game as normall, (the game Launches off the 05 bat, but not the 03 )

Once you've installed the 05 mod, grab the mc12 Standalone Car, install, and overide alfiles. this fixes a few issues, and enable the maserati in 03 mode

Well,
another night of downloading mods and tracks for GTR.
Seems like all the tracks for f1c and its mods are now available
for GTR.Speedwerks hosts a site with a few mods and addons as well.
The speed I downloaded from speedwerks was a nice break from the
other bandwidth restricted sites.I could only download at 85 kbps at m4driving but could download at 460 kbps at speedwerks.The lambo mod...porsche mod...and others were downlaoded in under 10 minutes.
The 2005 mod i downloaded from m4driving.It was great to see Nar Mark and his 100 megabit server running 24/7.Seeing Steve,cart andretti,Limpy,and Mark in a no lag server was a nice break.Mark also showed how he could upload a setup and we could download it.I tried his setup and knocked 2 seconds off my time.Thanx Mark.Racing with 27 people yesterday was interesting.I had no lag problems but had a few inexperienced drivers knock me out of the race.Oh well...I was just happy to be able to race with 27..LOL...so I just watched the rest of the race with the tv feed camera.Oh and nice to see chimpster online as well.
So far the good points of this game far outweigh the bad.I know rfactor is still creating f1 mod so this will do fine for now.

I'm gonna hazard a giess here and say that you passed myk into the first corner in estoril.I am surprised myk gave way...LOL...By the way.I got the other machine working with another copy of gtr and now it runs dedicated.whew.SO far so good...yayyyy..LOL....
