NAR 2004 Season Track Pack #3B (fixed Magny-Cours)

Post by Bilbo »

Here's the updated Track Pack #3 (notice the B at the end of the filename).

If you have already installed the previous version of TP3, you just have to make sure you install the Magny-Cours 2003 update (available HERE) before installing TP3B. TP3B will totally overwrite TP3 with (hopefully) no problems, there's no need to uninstall TP3 before.

If you have not installed the original TP3 already (for whatever reason), follow the instructions in the included README file.

I have looked for invisible walls with this track (Magny-Cours - France) and could not find any. The only strange thing I noticed was the AI driving driving on the white stuff outside the track at the start/finish line. Since I'm not familiar with this track, I don't know if this is "normal" or not.

Don't hesitate to report any problems here. Also, for those wondering, the full season mod will be ready at the end of the month or early July at the latest so everyone will be able to train with "the real stuff" during the summer break.

once again, great work m8 !!! you da man, hehehe, only thing i noticed is the AI drivers go through a wall where the old chicane used to be, and also a little before that , they cut through the grass, but the track works perfect for me
I may be slow, but at least I'm consistantly slow !

Even when you deleted the HAT file before installing the france track?

A few notes:

1) Those who did the "manual" addition of the RH2003 track to the NAR2004 season should undo it otherwise you will probably have 2 France tracks and I can't guarantee what will happen.

2) TP3B should have deleted the corresponding HAT files on installation.

For reference, what kind of lap times are you getting on the new layout?

After about 50 laps of practice, my pb is 1:20.5 although there is still easy room for improvement.

I was actually expecting to see 10s as I could get to 1:20 with not much training (I didn't know the track before yesterday). 8)

I know Mark did 1:13's and Erick also I think....

I did my first session there (race fuel as always) and managed a 1.16.2xx after a couple of laps.....Im crashing every 4 laps in the first right hander....*doh*....

I too found out that this track is rather tricky in a few places and no very forgiving of errors... But then, if we didn't want some challenge, we wouldn't be here in the first place!
