Calendar and mod anouncement

Post by dutch power »

Hello all

The NAR admins have finalized the calendar for 2008 season, and we have also choosen that we will use MMG 2007 mod for this years racing season so mod decision is official now, it also means we will wait for that release and when nescesary the calender will be adapted to it.

We have made an unofficial calendar. Why?? because we want enough time to get used to the new mod before the first race. THis means we have included 2 calendars, the unoffical one will be used when the mod is released before 1 march, when it is released later we will use the reserve option calender.

You can find the calendar in a word file trough this link.

http://home.tiscali.nl/markaalberts/Sim ... 202008.rar

And PDF file, thanks to Flow wraping it up in a pdf file.

http://www.noaidsracing.com/nar/NAR_Calendar_2008.pdf

We wish you all a good racing season

gentlemen start you're engines :D

If I may

Post by Ruben Miranda »

Hello
Not to be a pain or anything
It is a little hard to read with the black back ground (For my old eyes)

But one thing that I would address (And I might be the only one with this problem. So if I am the only one then leave it alone.
But if I read this right we will be racing in Turkey on Mothers day.
If this is correct
Then it is a problem for me and may be others.
Mom's Wifes and others would get a little upset if I/We are racing and not giving them there do.
And with all do respect they deserve there do. :D

Since it is not really official yet may be you can ask around and see what problem it will cause. As I am unsure of holiday dates in Canada or Euro such as Mothers day and all. but I beleave there are 3 or 4 NA drivers here and that date will fall on them.

The REAL F1 Turkey race is on mother's day (May 11th), not the NAR race. NAR Turkey is either on May 4th or May 18th, depending on when the MMG mod is released...

BTW, The calendar comes out black on white if you read it in Wordpad (XP's version of it, at least).

Np, when its rar file, on my mac, i cant read it, its open like a text file with all unknowed caracter.

Open your document, click on 'print' then in the print window you should see PDF button, select it and choose save as' PDF, then post it. It will be better than a word zip file.

why singapore at the end? is it cause we dont expect to have the track available on the "real" date?

looks good, would feel nice if we could avoid using the backup ! go mmg!

@ Flow :
you getting used to Apple too fast , and forgot that PC can't print documents in .pdf unless you install a third part program :) .
And for .rar files for your mac you can use unrarx (it's free).

I doubt that Singapore will even be ready this year until track moders have seen the real track itself (pics)

Hopefully it will be made.

Well it was particulary done to get rid of a back to back race there between either belgium and italy and japan china. Now its more spread and we have all season to see wich track we use for ending the season with, and with a bit of luck singapore track is done by then wich i hope so.

Hello
I would like to make a suggestion

Since the Mod is not released yet and the release date (If all go's well) is not until the end of the month.
Would it not be better to just go with the 2nd schedule
This would give us a little added time practice and testing of the mod.
Maybe do a poll or something.

I am under the assumption that it is better to say the 2nd Schedule then to wait to the mod is out and then make the decision only to find out we have a problem or the dates are not good for everyone. MHO

Release is 29th february or earlyer so that will give us atleast 2 weeks of getting used to the mod before the first race at 16 march so should be enough guys

Say what

Post by Ruben Miranda »

Hello
Well (I know pain in the Ass)
For me at least 2 weeks is not enough time.
I know 2 weeks sounds like a lot 14 days but really if you put
Family work and life oh yea sleep in to the equation it more then likely breaks down to just a day or two of quality testing. MHO

I much rather have the extra week again MHO

Myself even if I am not fast I like to at least be competitive or at least finish a race.
