It was absolutely a pity.
Those things shouldn't happen in race.
With you out and a good advantage over the second i only tried to finish my race one piece.
Btw Mark, were you on 3 stops or you just anticipated a lot your first stop? But then you should have done a long second or third stint. I'm curious :)

Suzuka will not cut you some slack if you haven't practiced enough......I learned that the hard way. I drove 15 laps this friday and that was it.....waaaa.......aaaaay to few laps aparently. I lost my front wing 3 times and the front/rear wing 1 time, that plus my ordinary pit stops equals 6 (six!!!  ) pit stops during the race...........oh....actually it was seven.....I went in and adjusted the front wing because I had a lot of oversteer from the crashes.....

Got to love the track though. So much fun to drive there.

Congratulations to Drago, an amazing 2nd half of the season for you friend! Congrats to Kaffemaskin aswell for finishing his first NAR GP! Means that I am the slowest in the South East area of Sweden today....P2M-Noob and me live in the same city and Kaffemaskin lives in the next town 45km from here. "I'll be back" 8)

well, here we go. practised a bit a few hours prior to race to really nail the q, since i know im fast in the start. said and done, a pb +1 sec would have given me the second start position and +2 would have given me third. Well, rolled up and when i got into the chicane to build up speed the entire coffe machine started shaking. i mean, i have raced quite a lot folkrace when i was younger and i never got nervous, but online racing...shit! i was shaking, couldnt do anything. almost couldnt shift gears cuz my hands where shaking too much. made a q time 2.5 secs slower than PB...without any real errors.

wellwell, still shaking and in the 5th or 6th start position, and the start was good. managed to overtake a car and had a good shot to overtake noob too but i chickened out since i didnt wanna ruin something (hey, first race :D ). Followed noob around for a lap or two with roadrunner just behind me, and then i see noob spinning in the hairpin. I get so exited, and as i looked at the race standings on my steering weel with a smile i spun, after having that third place for about one second. stalled the engine, and there i was - 6 secs behind the two alredy mentíoned and 15 secs in front of killa. So i just cruised around, drove like shit but it got better after like 6 laps when the nervousness went away.

It was about then i figured out that i didnt have a strategy for the pitsops at all, so i had to think some, look at the displays and try to figure out when to pit. did that for like 15 laps :P, which led to at least 2-3 misstakes. Anyway, i decided to pit lap 20, did a drago and broke to late :) , and ends up spinning and losing the rear wing in the pitlane (also making the car steer a bit as it wanted too :P ) . pit out, walking along, seeing drago behind almost not gaining at all on me i felt kind good. realized that someone was out of the race, and i was 4th. and as i looked at the steering wheel, trying to figure out who it was, i totally missed the first corner :P, ending up in the sand. drago flyes pas, and then i have motherfucking killa only 5 secs behind me. felt it was time to get the act together and started driving normally, and managed to hold the raging killa who had picked up some speed (i know, but its actually true. he wasnt going THAT SLOW ;D ) at that distance. figured i had to stay out on the track as long as i could i decided to run as long as i could with my fuel, and to my relief (actually kinda expected this) killa messed up 10 secs, and then pitted, and then messed up again. So now it was just a matter of sticking on the road, and pray that noob would fuck up one minute ahead of me - which never happened. As i started to feel really lonely i cathed up drago, and it looked like he was going really slow. either he messed up, or just turned the engine power down. anyway, nice of you to stop by and chat some. stayed behind drago for a couple of laps, then he decided to go at his normal speed i guess and away he went. Finally, i saw a black and white flag in the corner of the screen, but i wasnt really sure if it was over :D so i kept driving for another lap just to be on the safe side :) , and whoa - 3rd - in the first race. so, im still annoyed about that first spin but the results would prolly have been the same anyway so... anyway, good race and lets hope for more ppl the next time, and contratz to drago for a solid effort. Now i've done all the noob misstakes, including kicking the pedals away from me due to nervousness, so it can only get better! :D
cya at interlagos!

and yes, this was a long one, but posting a race summary in the forum was one of the major reasons to race in the first place :P

Congratulations to Drago... again.. :) !
Another perfect race from him.
Another unlucky break for my team mate (and speed demon!) DP.
A real shame Mark (actually I missed your first stop and thought you where on a single stop strategy).
Congratulations to kaffemaskin for finishing on the podium in his first NAR race ever!
I feel bad for killahead not being able to fight for the win here since I know he likes this one but I suspect we will see some serious domination in Interlagos ;)
As for myself. I thought I was way out of pace based on the posted laptimes on the forum but it would turn out that my initial set was pretty good since it allowed me to run consistently in the 34s 35s which was quite acceptable for the race. Sure, the car could have been better (especially in the slower corners) but I can't complain.
After my blunder in the hairpin (I decided to try to take it in first contradictory to what I had been doing in my practice session  ) I had a good battle with RoadRunner for a few laps. This was especially nervewrecking since the third place in the championship was on the line and I wanted to avoid a Senna / Schumacher maneuver if possible. ;)
When RoadRunner dropped out I was going through the motions. I tried to up the pace to see if I could manage Drago but there was just no way of doing this at acceptable risk.
And ofcourse I broke my wing on the final lap. This is sort of a good luck charm for Interlagos... - Well what do you want me to say?? I am such a noob I can't keep it on track for one lap? ;)

Welcome to a NAR race. Even after years, some nervosity still apears and dont know why, cant get rid of it  but youl learn to still be able to control your feet, even if its seems paralized, lol.

Happy that you make it to the end, and congratulation. Good that you had fun. Now imagine if they were 20 drivers around the track, amazing!!!

Those posted time are PB and are done after a few hours of pracice  and are more reference. Put nervosity, and youl get an easy +1sec per lap.

would it really be THAT impossible to combine the euro division with na for the last race? netcode is good...and 17+7=24 which btw would be awesome.

but maby there are too many close battles for the final season standingS?

2 stops drago, but i didnt realized that the fuell range was off so i came to short and had to do longer 2nd stint.

Anyway i think we where equal speed, when i was behind you with lighter car i could easy follow you, i just couldnt get pass you on the straight to last chicane, you where having to high topspeed for me lol.

But it was fun, i think untill first pistop i was never futher away then a second lol, i was sticked on his rear  and just tried to make you a mistake.

After pistop i was suddenly 10 seconds in front i guess you made bad pitstop or so,... anyway after that the steering failed, im realy disapointed about that, seems some just prevents me from finishing NAR race or something lol :?

Kaffemaskin:
The reason (one of them) that we don't run Euso and NA together is the time dirrence. NA guys don't want to race in the middle of the day on sundays and Euro people don't want to race 3am monday morning for some strange reason

DP!
Can't you see! You are the Kimi Raikkonen of NAR! In terms of speed possibly the fastest on track right now but bad luck over and over and over and over again. Try to do what Kimi is doing.....change team to next year and become Judas.....perhaps that will help

I'm really glad the days of racing at 2 pm are long gone. It really killed the whole day for us North Americans. It's hard to believe this is my 4th NAR season. Time flies. :)

yeah, exactly. Sad but true. But we have fun on our separate sides of the ocean.

Peter:
I love the track but I had only had 15 laps of practice and that is not enough even though I have millions of laps from past years. So nothing to blame it on than my lack of practice. Embarrassing......

About the "domination" at Brazil I would like to say something about that......it will probably NOT happen, eheheh! But I like the track and will put up a fight for the win as usual. There is a SMALL risk that I might not be able to participate but I hope that I can be there for the season finale.

Hehe, I didn't mean to put pressure Martin. I was just thinking about last time something similar happened... I remember in France when you felt you where a bit off pace and then you came back and drove an awesome race in Hungary.
