Whouhou, what a race!

Qualif : i mistake 2 place in qualif 1 on braking late and 1 braking too soon that let me qualif 1:14.2 ( 1 sec away from my pb) Gladly Brad seem to had little problem also witch i end up +.015 behind Brad. What a close time for Brad to get the pole.

Race : I start from second place on grid and in hairpin in lap1, i went wide and was going to cut vibe, so to be fair, i lift off a little, resuting that Hitman and Carrera pass me on the accel after. From there it push hard to get Hitman and i was able to pass Carrera when seem mistake. I went able to get away to catch back the 17sec i was now behind Brad.

Im happy, Brad was on same 2 pit stop as me. I stayed 3 laps longer than him on the 1st stop, so i went out with a +13 at that point. I push alot, and he lost 6 sec (a spun i think) so from there 7sec an back. I push so hard to be able to be at 3 sec when he pit, and i took a risk, with 7 liter to try a fast lap empty to gain on him. Hehe no luck i pit out 2nd time at +1.5 in his ass, BUT from there Brad was like a rabbit that i was hunting, lol

We went an average of 3sec to .5sec from the whole last 1/3 (from lap 45)of end of race, i was just hoping to keep Brad in front. No way i would try to save my mechanic, lol i push dam hard. Neer end, Brad stat to dance a little from right to left, i felt he was pushing a little too hard, so i had to put more pressure on him. 3 laps before end, in acceleration out of a corner, he spun and leaving to me for free the wining position and him at 7 sec behind of me. From there i lift off, and cruize to end with a 4-5sec lead.

Congratulation Brad, was another Dam fight we had and to add with Hungary, was like a replica of our 2005 race, were you won over me with a ass to ass fight for the 1/3 end of race, hehe. Congrat to Carrera 3rd and nice race guys, alot more finish than i estimated. Cool. Was a race to remeber. Wish we could have alot more dirver, a 18 car in race wouldnt be lonely for other in back.

Remember that next race is next weekend, 1 week to get ready it not alot!
Cya there

CONGRATS FLOW :)

and to ALL who finished.

My race SUCKED yet again.

STEVE I am very very sorry for the hit at the hairpin. I really left room between us maybe you touched the brake a little more and I didn't realize it till it was to late.

Sorry, Sorry, Sorry from then on I couldn't stop thinking about it and was hoping Steve was still running and I started making mistakes, spun at T1 touched the wall and the car was never the same.

So another DNF to go with all the others.....hey there should be a DNF champion......I would win that one.

Ain't that the reason why they ask you to always wear your seatbelt?

About the race itself, as history repeats itself, I had a few battles with Steve, which were the usual fun between us. I was on my way to a relatively easy 5th but I spun at the exit of T12 about 5 laps from the end, bending the suspension. Since Steve passed me then and I had no hope of figthing, it was only a matter of surviving what was left of the race.

My best race lap was 1:16.1xx, which is my PB by far so I'm happy about that given my lack of practice (25 laps yesterday and maybe 35 today before the race).

man what a race! flow summed up the race pretty well, qualifying was disgustingly close  first stint was good, first 10 laps i was happy with, then just started to get slippy. later i would find out that i forgot to adjust my tire temps, they weren't on a qualify setup like i thought, but a 5-7 lap setup :( second stint was actually not bad, first part of stint i could maintain gap, then second part flow was closing, but might be ok. the lap that the gap went from 13 to 6-7 was not a spin, but the damn steering wheel again. the last 20 or so laps were crazy, i was sweating, legs shaking, then i farted, it was all good. so flows on my ass, i know hes faster, and its like 10 to go, tires are shot, but im on a lower downforce setup, and ive got this line through t2 that is slow in, but real tight and allows me to shoot out. seemed flow had trouble drafting me, so this is good. i know hell close through the remainder of the lap, but i thought i just might pull it off. but i didn't. really sucks because those last laps were going to be very interesting. i think flow new he couldn't get me on the straight, but i think he was going to try the left hander in the stadium section after the fast right 8) he was definitely faster going in, and i felt it coming :) anyways, great race, congrats to flow hopefully hungry will be the same, just different

Actualy the part were i was more nervous in race, was having Hitman and Carrera in front of me, cause i felt that i wouldnt be able to pass them. I was shaking, lol. After they open the door, wow what a releif. A 2nd position was all i was asking, at least.

As for Brad fight, no way brad i would got you on straitght before hairpin, i never went able to get close enough, so no draft luck for me. I was on a totaly different setup as you, but in the infield track, i was getting close to you, but no place to pass there. My only hope was pushing over you to make you mistake. I was even nervously laughfing behind you few place, cause i was feeling i was a pain in the ass, lol. I sarted to be nervous only from the 10last lap, i was afraid of loosing brake or spun and waste all chance over you.

Well where do I start.4th place on the grid is on the inside line. This is not good..LOL...I spun my tires at the start listening to someone elses engine.I let off a bit and got going.I was behind hitman and flow and Brad after the first turn.Flow made a mistake into the hard braking hairpin and let hitman and I by.I would like to say that I had to improvise and use my silverstone setup and was actually contemplating not racing due to me being a hazard.Flow was nice enough to send me a setup but it was not suited to my driving style.Thanx for the thought though flow. The silverstone setup actually got me into the mid 1:15's so I am a happy camper.I would like to apologize to Brad though.I had 5 laps more fuel and when he came out of the pits I tried to outbrake him into the hairpin.I slid right past.I realized that I could have just stayed behind him until my pitstop and would have lost minimal time doing so.Thanx to xz and steve and paul and everyone who so graciously moved over to let faster cars by.On to Hungary. My personal favorite track.

My Race

Post by Ruben Miranda »

Hello
Congrates to the Top 3 and to all who finished.

I think this has/is my worst race so far this season so far and I hope this is not what the 2nd half is going to be for me.

With the lack of practice and the problem I had with my setup.
Don't know if it is the setup or my driving style my my front and rear left tires got hot and burned away very quickly. they where worthless with in 7 laps. after that is was a fight just to keep the car on track.
And with that going on and me getting frustraed mistaskes happened thru most of the race I was talking to my self (Calling my self a Dumb ass for those mistakes)
Well 4th is not bad if it holds

Well a week to Hungary that might not be enough time for me but I will give it my all. CU guys there

i feel ya hitman, even with my tire pressures set correctly, they still seemed slippy in testing, like you i dont know it it was my setup, or driving style, i think maybe i pushed the fronts (especially right front) just to hard during the race. i knew my pressures werent correct, but i had to push because of flow on my ass. yea flow, those last 10-15 laps were really tough, i actually really was sweating! nothing like knowing someone who is faster is closing to give you a good workout. good thing i had water left!

oh told the girlfriend what happend, im trying to convince her that we might need to go twice, just to be sure 8)

I think it is just your driving style flow.I watched you battle it out with Brad and you seem to use every inch of the track. My tires in that race were starting to go about 5 laps before my pitstop...bummer....LOL.....I seem to always eat up my rears for some reason.I'll have that fixed before hungary for sure.I guess my point is.No matter what the setup. It is still your driving style that determines tire wear.

As for my driving style, yeah i use complete outside/inside/outside smooth cornering, and i see some driver make an hard turn with wheel often little too late in curve, with end up on beeing harder on tire. Good point Carrera, i didnt tought about that before.

You lucky Carrera, i have to watch that back. I did watch driver's replay, and i was having hair up on my arms when drivers had to pull off being laped by 2 crazy folowing driver ass in ass neer end of race, lol. Was exciting to see.

Il will watch my replay tonight. The thing is since me and Brad did a close fight battle, i cant as an admin review my replay and Brad's replay, this is to be clean of any suspision, since i know a penality to me or Brad could influence final result, with 5 sec split at end, other admin watch that replay. But i cant wait to see mine with Brad just for the fun! Hehe.

me too flow! i just wish we had some good cameras for this track. thats not a dis at steve b at all, i know he puts in tons of work just to get them converted. but it would be nice especially to watch our battle :) so, maybe i should learn how to do cameras, then i could actually contribute. is there anything on the web about modifying the cameras? how do i learn to do it?

np at all carrera, thats racin! as they say in nascar. i was actually debating letting you by, i knew you would be pitting soon, but it was kinda a critical time for me as flow had not pitted and was running fast, i had to go as quick as possible. that was interesting at the hairpin though, i was in the middle, you popped out to the inside, i looked in my mirror and was like "hi carrera" then you slid past, uh "by carrera" lol
