Just a couple of questions for you guys. How many of you use force feedback and what are your settings? Also is there any rule reguarding
camera view? I use the tv view on top of the cockpit and just want to know :D so I can get used to the full cockpit view If I have to.

rules should be on the main site m8, and like dutch said, you have to use cocpit view, not tv cockpit
and on the force feedback, if you have a logitech wheel, you have to set it to a negative rating, i have mine set to full, and at -50% just mess with it and see what feels best for you

Yup, FF is up to you, mine doesnt have FF on it.

And for view of driving, well no rules is written about it. I want to precise that its 100% recommend that you use the in car view, that helps you alot to see in mirror cleanly whats going on behind you. So use inside cam.

Im diving since few years on playstation and games like that and always drived T-Cam. That is getting me problem now, cause i can drive in cam, but im not able to do drive stable. since this begining of season i practice half in and Tcam. i hopefully be able to race in cam till end of season. TCam causing me driving with back view and its not easy to drive close driving and t-cam. i think you understand what i mean.

For the rule, go on http://www.noaidsracing.webhop.org and in race info section, under rules, all rules about NAR are there, other than that, refer to FIA rules.

I believe the FIA rules clearly say that you have to drive from inside the cockpit...

Hello
I aggree Cockpit veiw is the only way to drive.

Don't want to be a asshole or anything but one of the boss's please make this rule clear one way or the other.

I say this because at one point this was asked and was told they did not care if they race from space.

Yes the cockpit view can be set as mandatory, but none can prove that we all drive cockpit view, so since we dont use any way of proving we drive in car view, we coud add it in rules, but any will have choice to do what is wanted. But i agree, we coud add it in the rules.

Did any notice that im driving T-Cam view? I think it make no difference, alone, im even faster on PB when i use IN-Cam view, but more dangerous since im not use to it when another driver is around me. So is it a big deal? Do we have to collect all driver telemtry files after race to be shure all drivers race with the IN cam view?

If its mandatory now, il use IN-Cam view, i will respect the rules even if you cant prove im driving the good view.

We have alot few details and other point that shoud be adjust or added in rules. But i think we cant change rules while a season is going on, unless its causing a major problem. This shoud be noted and add in rules for 2006 season. (its my opinion and no problem if other dont accept my opinion, i can change my mind  )

Just to make things clear but with no overall authority: after having reviewed the rules page of ALL NAR websites from 2003 (i.e. black background), 2004 (blue) and 2005 (current, black), there has NEVER BEEN ANY MENTION of DRIVER VIEW SETTINGS. I also don't remember anyone mentioning that you HAD to use any particular driver view in the forums for the past 2 years I've been in (or lurking around) NAR.

I could make the old sites available online if needed...

Ok so what you are saying is there are no NAR rules saying anything about views? So its up to the drivers prefrence and there is no advantage or disadvantage to either views.Or do you want to make a Cockpit view only rule for this season and foward?

I just want to make sure I do not break ANY NAR rules.

Oh and by the way FLOW you have a GREAT avatar!

In my opinion, I believe you can use any view you want as long as you drive safely and fairly. That could change next season but maybe not.

Personnaly, while I wouldn't drive any other view than in-cockpit, I'm not really in favor of view restrictions. View settings will never be an acceptable excuse for an accident, no matter what happens.

FTL has the in-cockpit view restriction (for the PRO category) so if you plan on posting your hotlaps there, you might as well learn to drive in front of that steering wheel...

Well,
FTL has that rule and Its true that there are no rules in NAR for cockpit view.Cockpit view is much safer as you can watch all around you in case someone makes a lunge down the inside when you aren't lookin. This doesn't happen to often because of our lag situation that pops up from time to time.It is better to stay back just in case of a lag hit during race.
I've raced online on occasion using T-cam view and in my opinion it is easier to spin out using it.I don't know why...but it just seems that way. Some other games are also like that.More reason to run the cockpit view.

Well guys I don't think we ever specified a rule concerning views becasue, quite frankly, I don't think any of us really care. Of course the reccomended view is in the cockpit so you can use your mirrors. However, if you feel more comnfortable driving from the tv view and you don't have a problem racing in traffic, then I think thats fine too. Also, we never created a rule because there is no way of proving what view people are using, and I'm sure as hell not gonna sit there going through telemetry files to figure out something as useless as what view you guys are racing with.

CART

P.S. Sorry for being away for a few weeks and then coming back and sounding all authoratative and clarifying rules, because honestly, I'm not even sure if I'm still head of the league as I haven't devoted that much time to you guys over the past few months. I think I'll make a poll soon to see whether or not you guys wanna kick me out of office and get someone else up here. Anyway, I now have my wheel with me in college and I'm looking to get back to racing ASAP. Get some servers open and I'll be there!
