AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGG WHEN out of gas 50 feet before crossing finish!!!!!

Congratulation Cart, i remember complaining of behing alone to finish the race, Dam dont do that to me again...lol

We never went more than 5 seconde of difference till the lap 53. I was getting problem to keep concentration. Then on last lap you lost brake and i was running on 1st gear for all that lap to save fuel. I finish betwenn the pit lane and the finish line. Wound be for that i woud finished 1st

NOW we have to see what rules is about it.
Cart 1st........57 lap
Flow 2nd.......56 lap (out of fuel) On same lap of Cart
Aaron 3........56 lap (+1lap)
Hitman 4th....56 lap (+1lap)

So do i get the 2nd place with 8 points according to FIA?

I just found the FIA F1 rules on http://www.fia.com

Some pretty interesting stuff in these too.

CLASSIFICATION
158) The car placed first will be the one having covered the scheduled distance in the shortest time, or, where
appropriate, passed the Line in the lead at the end of two hours (or more if the race is suspended, see
Article 13). All cars will be classified taking into account the number of complete laps they have covered,
and for those which have completed the same number of laps, the order in which they crossed the Line.
159) Cars having covered less than 90% of the number of laps covered by the winner (rounded down to the
nearest whole number of laps), will not be classified.
160) The official classification will be published after the race. It will be the only valid result subject to any
amendments which may be made under the Code and these Sporting Regulations.

Well my position is not 100% clear. Also if im back to the last lap finished, it woud be 56 like you and i finished the 56th lap before you and Hitman...

So according to it, i woud be on same lap but in front of you?

So the result was good, i was finished at lap 56, you did exactly 56 and i did 56.9 on the way of 57.

Im trying to defend the point But I dont want to absolutly have that 2nd, i also want it to be fair to you and Hitman. Also it woud clear the situation next time it coud happend.

Hey i think i have a good exemple, Vilneuve today didnt not finisht, stop 2 laps before end. The minardi who was +3 laps cross the finish but both were classified after Vilneuve...

hummm...

I Survived this bloody track

Post by Ruben Miranda »

Hello All
Well my race went horriable right from the start. I qualified with my race setup  and it went down from there. I spun so much I thought I was on a merry go round  If there are points for spinning I have that won  I don't know why but my setup just did not feel right then I hit the invisable pit wall and that really messed up my suspention my wheel was off center and the car was pulling to the left for 37 laps man was I frustrated (It sure made left turns easy) Right turns well thats a whole diffrent story

Well I survived and I am happy about that. I practiced as much as I could but just could not get in tune with this track and it really showed in the race.

Congrates to all who finished

Cart, Flow, Arron really put on a great race.

As for Flow's finish
He deserves his 2nd place finish I can only speak for myself but I know there was no way I would have been able to beat him for that position.

Nice race my friend :D

Cu you @ Imola
Hitman 8)
I might not be fast, But I am ahead of you.

Thanks Hitman, but we need a clear dicision or discussion on it, from rules if possible or real F1 exemple. It need to be fair to all, cause those situation coud happend another time, to another driver i hope, i got my lesson...lol  Sorry Aaron on last lap, i didnt saw and ear you come in my back, i was on high 1st gear to save fuel and no flag anounce you, cause you were 1 lap down, i almost cost us our race there... anyway we woud be in the 90% limit anyway...

Il take a look again in real F1 result, i think the 2nd pos. is ok, but want to be shure, il come back with that as soon as i can.

I believe the above mentioned rule tells it all:

If you have the same number of COMPLETED laps, positions go in the order those laps have been completed. So if, as you said, you have all completed 56 laps, then your second position would hold and the game would computed things correctly.

That's what I think, anyways.

Wow whats a headache huh? LOL.

Ok I guess we will award Flow with the second place, thats how I see the rules and I think a few others read it the same way. Also, there is another rule to address here. I know on the first pit stop I was right behind Flowand he crossed the pit line upon exit, however I am not sure about the other stop. Anyway, I know its in the rules and we all should know the rules, however I think its a bit unfair to penalize him this time, and besides, we dont even know his race time so 30 second penalties don't mean that much when everyone is +1 lap.

But, from now on, that rule will be enforced along with the others, no questions asked, so go read the rules and be prepared! I also like the idea of a race steward, however I'm not sure if we have someone that is willing to watch the replay a few times over from different viewpoints.

Oh ya its time for San Marino practice, Im at a low 1:21 with a few laps practice, anyone else start yet? I might be able to put up a server in about 1 hour (9pm Eastern) if anyone is interested let me know.

I'm currently reviewing the NA Div 2 race, although I don't wanna do it for every race as I usually won't have the required free time to do it. It takes ~30 minutes per driver to view the replay at max speed (we were only 4 drivers for this particular race, so it's not that bad).

I usually just watch my own replay to see what I did wrong and what I can improve, in addition to keeping a count on my number of spins (too many to count while racing!).

Ive recheck the finish of real F1 of barheïn race. Vilneuve did not finished, he stop -2 lap before end. The 2 minardi who cross the finish line were lapped by Vilneuve. They both (minardi) finish after Vilneuve.

went like this:
...
10. Tiago Monteiro (POR/Jordan Grand Prix) à 2 tours
11. Jacques Villeneuve (CAN/Sauber-Petronas) abandon
12. Patrick Friesacher (AUT/Minardi-Cosworth) à 3 tours
13. Christijan Albers (PBS/Minardi-Cosworth) à 4 tours
...

im in same situation as Vilneuve, i make my 2nd pit stop just 1 lap before Cart. I went out of gas, so its a DNF who give me 8 points. Its legitime and fair. I was finishing my 57 lap when i stalled, so im back to 56 in front of Aaron and Hitman.

So for the future, its like that in real F1, so as us, same rules as FIA.
I thinks its clear, now next race... with enought fuel, trust me...

Pit line, oups  was so concentrated on Cart...  if penality woud give me lost a position, then i deserve it. I will check my own replay to check if i cross it only once or twice. I can have my total time even if im DNF, il check it out wednesday night. ...

I check total time and even with 2 penality (+20/+20) i woud still be in front of Aaron with around 60sec at the end of lap 56. I wanted to calculate it just to be shure im fair and clean with Aaron. If Aaron woud pass me in time lap, i woud let him my 2nd pos. So for me the situation is close.

Congratulation to Cart who did fastest lap
1:31.582 Cart
1:31.632 Flow
1:32.042 Hitman
1:33.103 Aaron

In the result il be wrtten DNF, but my french game said in the final, (essence) empty gas as reason for my DNF.

Im working till midnight tomorow again, so i wont be able to update the web site untill wednesday night, sorry for that, real life before F1, hehe

Wow, does that mean I have the overall NA best race lap?

What happened to me???? 8) But then, it's probably because my setup was based on Erick's; maybe Erick put a remote control in it and decided to race or maybe he just sent me some positive brainwaves!

well damn. i got home about 15 min before the race, and still had to put the wheel back together! that was a race in itself. thanks guys for restarting qualify, that wont happen again. unfortunatly my qualify lap was the first laps i had done since friday night, so i was all over the place. aawil, sorry about that on lap one, i had a run into that corner, but once in i started to run wide, and i thought you were still beside me, so i tryied to slow more so i wouldnt drift into you, not knowing you were trying to tuck in behind :( im really upset with myself on this one, as looking at how things went i really had a shot. since i dont think im going to try this anymore- i was on a one stop strategy, in testing i found my setup worked really REALLY well with fuel- 20 laps could get into 31 within 3 laps. with a full load 140l 43laps, i could get into the high 33s after 7-9 laps, then just progressivly get faster. ive always said real f1 should try this somtime, so i started with 15l fuel with the hope that i could pull a gap at the beginning, then pit at the end of 15, load up, then just cruise home. i think it would have worked if i could have got some practice sunday, but i had to work on a friends truck and it over ran timewise. but it also hurt me the first stint, as i had low fuel, but hard tires that the pressures were set for a 43l run, so that first lap was interesting. also, im pretty sure i had a 1:31:2xx in the first 10 laps of the race, would that be fastest lap? anyways, sorry again aawil, and i hope one of these days i actually finish a race.
