I found this on RH website, it is about car shape, but dont worry, im shure that he have the same thinking about his tracks! i mean no use of his work if its not him that did it.

What I DO care about is what tracks we use. I really can't stress enough the importance of using tracks that are public (or can be made public). We WANT people to join our practice sessions because we want 22 car grids throughout the season!!!

this is essentially how i feel. i kinda like the 1.06 mod, the rear of the car is in one way easier, and in another harder to control now, but that may suit my driving style so who knows. i like that the cars change(how they feel) because i feel this is more like real life, im sure real life f1 cars rarely "feel" the same from season to season, hell probably not from race to race to much, lol. anyways, i dont really care what mod, just stable, updatable, good physics, graphics would be last on the list. in the end, whatever we run ill run it. and i concur on the track bit

Maybe I should clarify my statement about "as realistic as possible". I care much more about realistic handling than I do about realistic appearance. Sure, eye candy is nice and improves the overall experience, but IMHO the handling is what really makes it worth the effort to practice and race.

I second that.

I dont do physic for any mod. But how come the handling change from 1.05 to 1.06? i tought that it would only be less powerfull (V8 vs V19) and maybe some few other change. But i like the feeling of old 1.05 physic in general... maybe we have to ask limpy, but he will say, were were you when he tested it? Its now that we say we dont like? i will understand him.

Flow, you can use a text diff program on the .hdv files to check.
WinMerge is pretty good.
(you can configure it to skip whitespace and case differences and also to recognize missing / added lines)
If I remember correctly the 105 and 106 where similar except for the differential (in terms of the hdv).
But I can check again and make a brief summary of the differences.
As for testing, I did participate in one of the early tests of the 1.06 but I didn't give any feedback because I personally prefer the feeling in the ISI cars. And obviously if they where being modded _away_ from, any feedback of mine would be fairly useless.
<edit>
1.06 vs 1.05
the differential is different (i think the 1.06 is same as the BMW)
the placement of the rear wing is different
there are many changes to body arerodynamics and the diffuser
the 1.06 has the body aero and diffuser from the BMW combined with the wings aero from 1.05.

I drive whatever you guys come up with no problem for me.
When we speak in terms of realism i will say that these 06 physiks are not ok. Ive expressed mineself in the past about the isi physiks, and that is that i dont like it (setuping part) and some things stil doesnt make sence to me. In 06 they might used bmw physiks as base but i think its tweaked in wrong way. Also the handling of the 06 cars is not ok in the mod the car is way to nervous and to instable on curbs.
But its just what you like, ive driven this some days now on the isi silverstone track and to be honest i like it to drive as it is a challenge to do, but if i have to speak about the realisme i have to disapoint some people then
If i have to choose between ctdp or f1champs it will be the champs though as i realy dont like the ctdp physiks.

Hello
Another thing I wanted to say and ask is the up and down motion in 1.06
I know this can be adjusted but do not remember how.
Anyone
I was getting sea sick and felt like I was driving GTR.
And also is there a patch or a way to unlock the wheel on the ISI BMW to change the LCD screen.

do you mean the bouncing thing? ive noticed my car is bouncing all the time, but its not loosing grip like im bottoming out, so i figured it was a glitch. or are you referring to head placement? i do prefer 05 physics more, but so far im finding 06 challenging. i have no clue what limpy would have changed, but in real life didn't the front wing get moved higher again, resulting in less front down-force? also i think with the v8s the center of gravity is lower and more forward, and i think the aero center of pressure is moved a bit more to the front as well. i have no clue if limpy modeled that shit, but i think that was some of the little changes in real life.

Humm The bumping may come from the track Himan, try a SteveB track.
As for the track, i ask steveB the awser he got from rh to release public is track. Rh dont like it, they are not enough realistic in texture, and scenery and sky box. They dont like it, so they dont want us to keep it private. So forget it, steveB would need to buy some software to fix it, they name list what to use to do good track texture. But this doenst mean that the amount of money and time will make track as low fps as it is now. And alot of people dont like.
Maybe we dont like physic because of the setting of power coaster and few other in differential that we are not use to it? I dont know.

In general, you have BOOST MAPING, this value is set to 0. Put 10 and feel the difference. The zipping seem less perceptible on trottle at end of rev. So balance it to have a boost but not too mutch to loose control. 0 seem ful boost and 10 seem no boost at all, at least from what i understand. I will test more if its realy that or im getting use to it.

Hello
Yes Brad I am referring to the car bouncing up and down.
Dam I wish I could remember what needed to be adjusted.
I beleave it was in the plr file but not sure I will ask around.

Hmmm hitman, that was not a setup from us, since you already adjust that no? i think it comes from the mod or track, no?

With Regard to fixing the Bouncing, It is in the PLR file , when I searched the forum to find what to adjust I found that the settings in my PLR are correct. But I still have the bounce, so that's not it, could be the track.
Changing the sound file to the SK1 sounds makes the whole experience better.
I also found that detaching the rear third spring and setting the front really low helped with the snap over steer.
With settings all on full the LCD is visible, however there is a significant drop in fps, those with lower powered puters will have issues. There is a way to increase the LCD font sizes in cockpit view by tweaking the cockpit .ini file.
As with the 1.05 mod there will be an adjustment period, i believe we need to run it in practice and race modes for a while before any decisions
can be realistically be made.

Ok i got a clean 1:19.4xx and Carrera did a 1:19.5xx as PB. Other were getting lower also. Like Paul said, i also find that i was having a suspension that was too set to neerly 200, and i lower to almost detatch ( i think paul have a detatch one maybe) from there i was now able to accell better in slow corner.
At sylverstone, i was now able to brake into the few last corner without loosing the car (spun).
Our problem is that we have setup that are too 'gripy' in front. Try to loose your setup in front to have less grip, more 'pushing' in corner.
Here the setup i was using, not a perfect one, but i was doing 19's with it. Im touching ground alot, im sitll learning. Its my 1.05 Spa setup basis, but with some change.
Question : Why when i want to host, my server open with 1.05 and not 1.06? i wanted to test Spa, with 1.06 to see the difference...

The biggest reason imo is f1c 1.05 was made for old rF version where alot of the new features werent possible. as soon as isi was planning to release 1150 limpy worked with them to make the 06 mod use all these new stuff

I don't know if I want to mess around with the setup too much at this stage. Usually it is enough to take a lap in any setup to get the feel of the physics. The car will be inherently stable or inherently unstable. This you can feel regardless. Even if you are on the wrong setup in an inherently stable car you will know.. it will behave "naturally realistic", to coin an old company pitch.
Damn I wish Alx was still racing NAR. It would be interesting to hear his views on the various mods and stocks. Since I cant help but to feel that me discussing "the feeling of a formula one car" is sort of like Pamela Andersson giving her views on special relativity (sorry Pam

when you fire up the server, there is a part with:availeble cars, set that to only f106, i didnt test to see what happens with both availeble
