ok, I have a suggestion that might be unpopular with some. But to me it makes perfect sense. Rather than just randomly split up the divisions(if we do). Let's have tests(or tryouts) that determine who goes in what division. The fastest drivers go in 1 division, and the slower go in another. I know it sounds harsh, or judgmental and every other angry word you can come up with, but just think about it. If we in the basis of keeping things "even", we scatter the drivers permenantly with 1 group, than there will be potentially some desparaties that will cause the racing to be very sterile(e.g., 1 driver wins every race). If we keep the driver that are at similar speeds together, than we are assured an exciting race. Because every driver is competing with the next driver to some degree or another; and actually has a chance to win... even against me
I don't want to make an example cause then some would get mad at me, and I also don't really know how fast some are compared to others. OK, fine.... the first 4 drivers in the "fast" division would be

Div1

Erick
Brad
CartRulz
Carrera.... and so on and soforthe

Div2

Steve....that's all I know so far(sorry steve, I had to play a joke on you 8) )

Just an example...but there is a chance that we could have unexpected surprises in who goes where ;)(cause there would have to be tryouts). This is just a suggestion. I don't want to offend anyone, and I don't intend to be preaching or teaching. just throwing ideas out. :D

I was thinking of something similar Erick, and I think it makes sense too, it will certainly raise competition. The only problem is, how can we conduct a "tryout" session. Where would we go and when would we do it. I guess Australia makes the most sense because we have all practiced there recently. Also, I suppose we should do it this Sunday the 13th as we have a race on the 20th.

So, I guess we could split to 7 drivers in Division 1 and 8 drivers in Division 2.

Anyway lets hear it guys,.

OK,now we're gettin somewhere...
I guess the most sense would be what erick and bilbo and bob hope and cindy lauper said..OOps I was watching an old movie at same time as typing..hey wait...since when does cindy lauper and bob hope appear in the same movie..Arghhh...LOL....ok...so the best bet would be to divide on speed if that seems ok with all.Everyone does so many laps..say 5...and sets up the car to their liking with say....2 on radiator opening and 1 on brake ducts to make it more even...Then we try to split it up that way and see.Mind you.Remember merc said he could use the 1oo megabit server but that means he would have to use his sons connection everytime with no interference. That would work for some races but I would think not all...Splitting up divisions would eliminate lead cars hitting slower cars several times during races also.I think we should get some feedback from all driviers if we can.

Hello All
Well we are getting somewhere.

A couple of things if I may with a couple of questions.
We do one try out and that determs if you go to Div 1 or Div 2 for the whole season. :?:

Since it is been my experiene that some drivers are faster on some track and not as fast on others. And also would point out that there is a big posability that as the season goes on some drivers will get better.
Ohh Shit I think I am repeating what Cart or someone was saying at the begining.'

In any case you might want to think about qualfiying the night before on every race and that determens what division you go to Div 1 or div 2.

In anycase I think you guys are on a good track.

How can you decide who is faster than another, I am certainly one of the fastest 7 hotlaps/qualifiers, but I might be borderline for 7 fastest racers.

Well if it helps I am going to Costa Rica for 3 weels march 24th-april 15th. How many drivers can we handle, possible 12 with no problem. Maybe even 15 if we get all of us to maximize our connection. I would jump and split into divisions yet. Also we can adjust the collision threshold to maybe 200 instead of 300

One thing we didnt check at all, WAS ALL DRIVER SET TO MINIMUM GRAPHIC, if it realy help??? I was set all to low except for track and image quality was to medium(unless its ugly), even shadow is off all the time. Tonight we were 5, not mutch, but still no lag with Carrera who is 3000km from here, and some from middle-south US (i think). Strangely in Australia race i had lag with only few driver and other was perfect... can grapic of 1 driver coud cause problem to all other du to graphic too high??? realy??? Also the "additional display section" with specular and stuff like that are off and 2nd right row is all set to low for me. Is all like that, not shure....

Is someone can comment on this, please.

So where are we going with the lag race problem?

If we split NA league, we shoud not have 2 sames team car, i mean 1ferrari, 1honda, 1renault... i woundt mind changing team if necessary, but im alone... hehe so maybe more simple to have a constructor championship...

We are holding the tryouts tomorrow, like it was originally planned. Basically, I am thinking it will be organized like the old F1 or the current Champ Car qualifying rules. We each get 15 laps to use over a 60 minute session. Division 1 will be the top 7 drivers, and Division 2 will be the other 8. If you don't show up, you simply get placed into Division 2. Now, do we want to hold this at Australia or Malaysia?

Hello All
I know this is very important that we all be there.
And I had every intention on being there for Div Qual But I just got reminded that we have a dinner party we have to go to.
So I am sorry to say that I will not be able to make this time.

That means I go to Div 2

Cu you guys
Hitman 8)

P.S May be there are others that will not be able to make it and we can do this earlier. Just a thought

How about falling back to last week's qualifying times for those who can't be there? That leaves only Carrera (assuming Cart will host as usual) with no time if he can't make it to the "div selection" event...

I second that. It could also be two 30 mins sessions with a total of 15 laps allowed overall, so people who participated in the 1st session could decide to participate in the second if they have laps left. We could have one session this Sunday and the next one either this week or even just before next race, although this is not ideal.

i was more thinking seperating it in half, again imagine 15 driver hotlappig, lag again no?

I woud like more precision, do we go out for 15 laps or do we make a total of 15 hot lap (not including warmup lap)???

For the split division, i dont want to redo the site, or i found a simple way to do it for less hour spent. In NA division we have 2 row of drivers. We shoud display on row 1 the division 1 and on row 2 the division 2. This will only mean that some will have to change team, cause we cant have 2 same car ( imean 1 ferrari, 1 reanault, 1 honda, 1... and so) This is gonna spare me few hours, please.

Cya tonight!
im now able to do in 1:26 high in Australia....rrrrrrrrrr gna, i was dreaming that this night...zzzzzzzz...hahaha

Great

Post by Ruben Miranda »

Hello
I 3rd that  A secound session would be great. But it should be done before our next race. Taht way we all know where we stand and what we are driving. If we do go with a 2nd Session I would be happy to host it if Cart or others are not Avaliable.
I can always send the results of the session via E-Mail. Just need Info on how you are going to run the sessions and are you going to watch them or are you going to have them submit there Telemetrys or just trust.

(Edited)
Flow I guess this depends on where I end up Div 1 or Div 2 but if it can be done I will take the Sauber or Toyota to help with the Web page.

Let me know
