Post by dutch power »

to mine old PC

Haha i know you where thinking that i shoulda leafe arent ya,.....

Ok today i had again a failure with mine PC..... I know its the HD same happend last week and im gettin sick about it. I can do 2 things

1: Buy a new HD
2: Buy a new PC

Since mine pc is not the fastes anymore (amd wich runs on a bugger 1150+ and a crappy nvidea card) i decided to go for a whole new PC.

I know one thing and thats i wanna have an Radeon 9800 pro,.. cant stay behind 8) and the cpu will be someting like a 3000+ or so,....

Now im not a PC freak and i dont know that much of it so i would like to ask for the experts what is an good combination for sim racing games

So like what type of memory, motherboard and other important stuff
And money,... HA thats not a problem for me

So go ahead experts

Thnx
Regards,
Mark Aalberts

Ya your a real comedian dutch ..LOL...
You were right about the xp3000+ dutch...if you can make sure you get a xp athlon64 3000+ chip..it is a 754 socket and runs an 800 front side bus..it is currently 225 dollars in canada.I have to wait till september 20th before i can get mine...my recommended board of course would be the asus k8v-se dx...the reason is simply because it handles the 800 front side bus and also has DUAL channel ddr ports (supports ddr 400).
The 9800 pro is now comming down in price here and should be cheap there as well.I am still waiting for mine to come back(after i fried it).
make sure you get a good case with about 400 watts power and a good heat sink to keep temps down. You are probably not overclocking so heat should not be a problem anyway.audio and g-Lan are standard on the board.I believe it is 6 channel audio also.If you do not want to go with the big 800 front side bus just make sure you match the front side bus on your chip to the same on your board ie:333=333on the board or better.
you can however put a 333 front side bus on a bigger board ie:333=400 bus on the motherboard.going the opposite way 400=333 onboard will only heat up the chipset big time.

one thing about the athlon 64's if you get one, do NOT install service pack 2 !! tons of people have major problems with sp2 and the athlon 64's

also, if you're looking for high performance memory, without paying a premium price , i found a gig of ddr400 low latency { two 512 mb sticks } for $167 american, comperable Corsair memory is almost $300 american, the brand is PDP, check it here on newegg.com, mine is on the way, hehe, i've read nothing but good things about it.
