now in order to get windows updates, you HAVE to have automatic updates and a couple other things set to automatic, what a pain in da ass, lol
I may be slow, but at least I'm consistantly slow !

I also hear that some programs won't work with the new sp2 because of the advanced firewall....one word...ROUTER...get one ...LOL...make sure when you install windows...you are not connected to the internet either...as you will get a virus or 2 right away before the firewall can do shit...just a freindly reminder...LOL...microsoft sucks...ain't it beautiful..

I would not install SP2 just before a NAR race...

hahaha Bilbo, good idea m8, hopefully it's not hard to disable the "new" windows firewall, as it will be enabled by default with SP2

I've read about a lot of sytems that did NOT restart after installing the last SP2 "release candidate" so I'm not in any hurry to install SP2. My current XP installation works great (a single blue screen in 1.5 years and that was due to overclocking my video card a bit too much on a very hot day) and I already have a hardware firewall/router...

i hear ya Bilbo, i'm definitely at least going to wait a while, and see what people are saying about it before i install it
