MMG stearing/turning

Post by Ruben Miranda »

Hello
I am hoping I can get some insite and help on this.
In another post Kaffee mentioned snap stearing not sure if this is what I am getting or if this is what he ment.

For me on turning in to corners
If I move my wheel just a little it just goes all the way.
If you can picture going in to a turn and trying to point the car in smoothly and it just shoots left or right.
It is very difficult to be smooth and get the turn right.
As it just snaps left or right with very little movement from the wheel.

I have tried
In setup down force
Wheel lock
wheel angle
spring stiffness or soft.
And many other things no real change

Wheel settings I have tried
Speed sensitivity
Digital steering
Look ahead
and other things I can not seem to work it out or get used to it.

Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong or is there away to work this out even a little will help.

It is like it is either full left or right with no in between.

This sounds really odd - I have a few little issues with the mod but this certainly isn't one of them, and it sounds quite bad (must be near impossible to drive if the steering is acting more like a digital input).

You've already tried all the things I would suggest so I'm not sure what to say about it. Hopefully someone else can offer some advice to help fix the problem.

Try playing with the keyboard to see if it's easier!

(sorry, just like Firefly above, you have already covered whatever I would have suggested). :(

Hello
 Bilbo
I don't even type well on a keyboard and you want me to drive that way
You must be mad hehehehehehe

No I don't have FF on my wheel so no update to that affect has been in stalled.
In fact in game I have all those settings off Strength and effects are all off.

May be they need to be set any way not sure I will try that.

Have you calibrated your wheel lately Ruben? I don't have this problem with the Mod at all m8. I would try recalibrating, and maybe reinstalling the drivers. Also try it on a different type of car first, and see if it does with that. Sounds maybe like it is wheel or calibration related to me.
I may be slow, but at least I'm consistantly slow !

Hi Guys,

Hitman try this REAL FEEL plug in, this works amazing for me.
EXTRACT TO: C:/Program Files/rFactor/Plugins folder.

I would also update your DIRECTX to the lastest release...that too worked well for me.

Hope this helps

Hello
Yes I have recalibrated the wheel a couple of times.
Under Game controllers it works great I can turn it very smooth.
But go to in game and turn it ever so slightly and goes full left or right.
It is the BRD wheel so there is no drivers for it per say so nothing to update there.

I updated my DirectX drivers and in stalled the real feel plug-in.
Although there does seem to be a difference in feel not enough to know weather it was the
DirectX update or the plug-in
Just for a test I will take out the plug-in and see if there is a difference.

I went and adjusted the Dig steer in game
First went down little steps all the way down to zero it was so bad not sure if it had gotten worse.
So then I went back to 25% and slowly went up around 30% or 35% it got better or seem to got it up to 44% or some where in there and it started being weired again. (But not that Snap Steering)
I dropped back down to 40% felt pretty good
I then lowered the Speed sensitivity a little at a time and that felt even better as far as turn in and out of corners.
I then had to go Dinner time and friends came over. Pfft they just don't understand I am busy
Well at least I think I am making progress towards the good.

It is just weird that in other mods I just had to adjust the Speed sensitivity and I was good to go.
Oh well work in progress.
