Fuji reference times

Post by Firefly »

I just did a few laps of this track (the version that Limpy put with F1C 1.07), and it isn't much fun... a sad replacement for Suzuka. :(

It is still challenging - the downhill exit of turn 1 is a nightmare especially, but it doesn't have the fun factor of Suzuka.

My best so far is 1.10.2, but that's only after around 10 laps learning the layout.

SteveB is going to post the official version tongith (NA time). Also, dont forge that in real life, it seem that the track is not apreciated, FIA will alternate between Suzuka and Fuji. Money that Toyota (Fuji) and Honda (Suzuka) are injecting in F1, Berni seem to had no choice to please both of them, or berni found of way to make more money with both of them, Ha! Ah!

It is good that they are alternating between the two each season, I just miss Suzuka this year as it's one of my fav tracks.

It's a shame that money matters so much more than anything else in F1.

For us, F1 is a hobby, and for Berni, it is a business... sadly, we have to see it like that. Bernie have to bring back home million to his share holder, some european bank. Bad for us, but reality him.

Maybe one day they'll run F1 for the good of the spectacle - they'll do what the fans want and make it more exciting. And when this day comes, there be pigs flying in the sky.

I've got my best down to 1.08.1 now, but it's very tough to drive consistant here. Feels like a mini Monza or something.

High 08s here in Q trim, high 09s in race trim so far. This track is tricky for such a deceptively simple layout...

I noticed you were reaching very high top speeds last time we were both in same session, so I think you just need more wing.

I found wing around 16 to be the best compromise between speed and grip here. Using much more or much less than that seems to result in slower lap times.

I'll be back on track Saturday night I think.

My qualif PB is 1:08.3 and my race is from 1:10 high to 1:09 middle. I only have +/- 30 laps of practice up to now.

After about 400 laps of practice, I managed a probably lucky but still legal 1:08.9 on a real race setup. I haven't tried a Q setup since last week though.

Well the NEW 2007 Fuji layout is out but it is in very beta form.

.mas files aren't even packed up.

I will talk to the creator and see if he will give me permission to do that and release it for our/NAR use only OR you guys wait till he releases v1.0

In beta form it is looking pretty good but a lot of texture issues for now.
