Post by qler »

i started this topic so that we can make fun of our initial times after 1-2 weeks :) i read the malaysia reference times and i saw i was struggling for 1:33 then...so here goes: i made a few laps with kaffe and we did 30's and one 1:29.2 ... lucky lap i guess :)

waiting to see drago's and mark's 1:25's :))

lol, i did brake the 28 barrier, i got 1:27.8 but i have no idea how i did it and i cant really do it again :) i stumble with my sets, make a lot of mistakes on track so things dont really look good for me :)

by the way do u guys get understeer in the medium esse at the start of 2nd sector ? i dont really know what to do about it... cant get the correct racing line at reasonable speed...when i do it's luck and i break the 1:28 lol

any ideas ? tried adjusting wings and springs but nothing seems to work...
thanks ;)

On Qualif setup, i did 1:29.2XX as PB. But im still not verry stable, still easy to do mistake. On race setting, i dont know my time, i need to get use to the blind S at 2nd sector, not a easy one.

One comment, in past 2006, 6 drivers in Euro DNF and 7 in NA. if im right, most reason were Crash in wall, and Brake problem. Watch out!

And if any remember 2 years ago, i DNF in 2nd position with empty fuel, few meter before finish line (between last curve and finish line), Try to not do that...

hi,

I ve got a 28'500 in qualif set (3x 30min practice) and I didnt set anything for race now.
From the way I see it, everything happen in sect 2.

I have an idea about setting the car for race but I ve still few question for you guys.
Until I havent been driving lately , I was wondering about engine temp problem in long stints.
How do you set rad or else to keep the engine alive until the end.
My engine get really warm everytime I tested to pit!!!!

thanks in advance

As mark already suggest, do a private session and use the 'time scale' as for mechanical failure. This will simulate the 100% lenght race of engine life for the number of lap that you will set it.

yes, Flow is right, nobody can tell u how to set rad brake duct etc because everyone has different driving styles.. if u change in red, if u downshift hard, if u are hard on brakes , all these make the difference.. so test in time scaled...

I am happy to announce i got a 1:27.6 today....which will prolly mean the end of quali set training... still feals pretty random , and now it's easyer to make mistakes with the new sandtraps...which are realistic btw....

in race i did a 19 lap stint getting all 29's with a 1st lap of 30...but that is 2 good to be true and of course i couldnt repeat it.... and that was before sandtraps :)

Dont worry, with sand trap in race you will pace : 1:29,1:29,1:29,1:29,1:41(oups, sand)1:29,1:29(oups sand)1:29,1:29,1:45,1:48.. oups no brake

If you want to pace steady in race, be shure to not have a car in your ass, mirror driving is distracting. And if your folowing, watch out, 3 corner are deadly on this track, full speed and hard braking corner. Not all driver have same braking point.

I sarted my race setup last night, i think its not bad at all, i just need to concentrate more, to do stable pace time.

Qler made me do some Q tests (telemetry is fun :) ) and after watching where i lost time, i managed to squeeze down to 28.2 (rougly 30-40 min testing), race feels far better. Think i'll be able to hold it in the 30s all the way, with some excursions to the 29s. ofc, that is if i practise a bit more :) my biggest problem is that i stall the car hehe

flow u bastard! ... u are right tho :) that will prolly be my race... hard for a unexperienced driver like myself to keep constant pace, and i get nervous as hell on race day, my leg is shivering on throttle :) (btw anyone else has this?)

But i figure u have to start somewhere, and speed is a good way to start, so dont worry about me, if i finish the race i am more than happy :)

Kaffe, i'm glad u found telemetry helpful, we need to promote it as ppl here dont trust it :)

Unexperienced my ass qler.... hehehee

This is my second FULL season and my legs and hands shake just as much now as my first season but I do get over it faster.

As for the telemetry it may be somewhat accurate but trying to understand the dam thing is the major problem.

All I see is a bunch of squiggly lines. LMAO

At malaysia, Hitman was making my leg shake so mutch that i was starting to mist my braking point. usualy im nervous when i feel that i wont be able to hold the driver behind, my leg is like freezing and OUPS MOVE MOVE and it moves too fast or too slow :? .

At my first season in NAR, my hands were missing blood, was like ants in my hands :D . I happty that it disapeared... last year! Now, 4 years later, the 'parkingson' leg still occur at least once in race, and even in qualif  .
