my car was just undrivadle after few laps, so i decided to slow down and take the car to the finish as safe as possible.
Better a second place than a dfn.

WO HOOO, now i have nothing more in my life to complete :)

For the Q...decided i will fuck it up anyhow, so i just didnt practise it. Think i ended up in 6th start position or so, rougly 2 secs behind PB

Race...well, bad and cautious start (as usual lol ) and on top of that a spin after the first complex. So there i was stuck in last place, thinking what the hell. Catched up with limpy, and we started eating or way through the field. We ended up 4th and 5th, with less than a second between us for the entire second half of the first stint. He was slightly faster i think but couldnt get by, really nice racing and we looked like 2 pros i bet :)

I knew i had more fuel so i waited for his pit and pushed :) , guess somehting happened cause i had 8 secs after my stop. Limpy made some small errors i guess, and the gap backwards grew. So cruising along as 3rd roughly 20 secs behind drago and killa, when i noticed i started gaining. Killa DNFd, and i managed to close the gap to drago who conviniantly spun when i catched up, and 6 laps to go here. Managed to keep it together, and a small error from the italian stallion made the last lap calm (although i almost fucked up in the second to last turn) and wo-hooooooooooo, guess not just a little but quite much luck on this one. Qlers grim faith comes to mind with his car jamming in the pits from the lead, but if i was unlucky last time i guess this is the reward =)

congratz to all you other who finished, and bit THX to dan for hosting.

cu in bahrain!!

What a MAJOR dissapointment...... :?

I actually had a good qualifying and was 3rd on the grid, lost 2 positions in the start I think. I had a some great battles with Qler in the first stint and also with Drago, quite many position changes there, fun!

After Qler dropping out after 1st stint I chased down Drago and passed him, obviously he was not at his best since I was able to catch up. I was actually feeling comfortable in the lead, doing steady 33's and had a 6 sec gap to him when on lap 36 my brakes failed (brake disc size on 3) on front left tyre................ :? :?

What a f****g mistake........I was pretty upset.....lucky me I had "only" practiced 60 laps before the race.

It is not meant to be for me to win a NAR race....it's not the first time I screw up in the lead and/or with chances to win.....

DAMNIT! :x

I had a good race despite the lack of preparation.
Around one hour before the race I managed to get the setup to behave closer to the way I like it and I could start pushing the car ever so slightly.
Qualifying went great actually. I made my PB on the actual lap.
Race also went better than excpected.
I did make a few mistakes, but nothing to cause any damage to the car.
A little too slow on the debut, but a good 6 points into the 2007 campaign.
Congratulations to Kaffemaskin on his maiden victory!
I am really hoping for a position closer to the top at Bahrain.

well....awful race for me i guess... :) actually it was great till that moment at the pits( still puzzling on that one) In the .. single stint i ran, i was doing good, i had a great quali, good start , managed to keep my position. Drago and Killa were breathing down my neck but i didnt push , i remembered some training laps with drago in which i tried to push hard to get away and that didnt work for me, obviously he is much more experienced, i didnt know killa but i was guessing he was the same. I tryed to drive conservativly , at one moment i let them pass, but i came back as soon as they made mistakes... last 6-7 laps i guess drago lost grip on tyres and i managed to get some time there... i lowered boost, drove slowly (even too slow, my tyres werent heating properly) made some little mistakes but i got to pits with a nice margin... and then...oh well ...then i smoked all the ciggarettes i could find. I console myself with the fact i got my f1rst pole position. :)
I wanna congratulate Kaffe, he was very nice to me since i got here, we exchanged telemetry, setups etc .. so i am glad he won... also if it wasnt for drago's set i wouldnt dream of beeing that fast.. so thank you m8. all finishers and even dnf's :) congrats

You are 100% right there DP....I should have practiced more......BUT......the brakes almost made it 40 laps. I had actually driven 3 whole stints for practice, but not 3 stints in a row.......so it was just a clumsy mistake not to change the brake disc size......well well.....

Congratulations Team mate on your win ! ! ! :D Volvo 4-ever 8)
