head movement in game

Post by Drago(ITA) »

head movement in game can be done with this little progam http://nipg.inf.elte.hu/headmouse/headmouse.html
using a webcam in a similar way like trackir does. After installed and set the camera start rfactor and when on track use U to activate it and D to reset to centre.
It will eat some fps , but it's funny :)

Wow nice app! (Image processing is always cool)
I cant try it yet since I don't have a webcam :(

The only bad thing is I have to recenter constantly. Cool idea but needs some more work.

screen shot will not help to understand how it works.
The webcam just track you head movement so , for example , when you turn your head to left you visual in game will look to your left too.
It does the same thing as "trackir" does, but in a less precise and more poor way.
It works for moving your mouse pointer on desktop too, and this should have been its main use.

it would not recognise my webcam, and then the program would not shut down, i would say it is a VERY early Beta, lol
I may be slow, but at least I'm consistantly slow !
