NAR 2007 Season

Post by Kaali »

Hi everybody

Maybe I am a bit too early out bringing up this subject BUT I am curious as hell!

How are the prospects for 2007 NAR season? I mean will NAR exist in '07? If it will I am very curious about when races will be held. I was racing in NAR last 6 races in '05 and first few races in '06 but had to retire for practical reasons (races start at 11 - 11.30 pm my local time. Totally crashed on Mondays!).

Well. I still have itches literally all over my body and miss races like I dunno what. So my question is: Will it be possible to push races earlier than you start races now assuming you still race at 9pm EST? If that is possible I will consider racing again in the best league ever! :)

EDIT:
Huh?? "I was racing in NAR last 6 races in '06 and first few races in '06..." how the hell is that possible? Well I guess it's itching too much and all these number 6 confuses me ... 8)

We were a little late eatch time of begining of 06 season for many reason. Now we start qualif at 8h00pm, Warmup is around at 8h20 to 8h30PM and we start race around 8h30PM to 8h40PM if im right. We are now having a stable race server, and 99% of time drivers are on time. Some few minutes delay is ask in warmup, but we are less permissive these last race.

Is that helping you more? Cause if yes, you could join us for the 2 last race of season...

Unless you want to join Euro side, they drive at 8h00PM CET (Means 2PM EST) Euro are also missing some driver... but maybe your connection is better with NA, you may need to test both to see.

Come back, we mist you!

It is safe to say that if I'm still hosting for NA next season, the warmup session duration will be enforced by the server. Meaning that after 10 minutes, the race starts, ready or not. The current situation is getting absolutely ridiculous as there is ALWAYS something cropping up between the 9th and the 10th (last) minute of warmup. This negates all efforts we have made in trying to start qualifying on time as the warmups are now 15-20 minutes long for no real good reason. 10 minutes should already be an extended warmup, the real duration was supposed to be 5 minutes...

You have a few months to prepare for this change in NA, I've been told it's already working like that in Euro. Have your catheters ready!

We have to cope with driver that are in complete West and Qualif is at 8PM EST. This means that Vancouver/California drivers need to get ready at 5PM and Greenland driver at 9PM for qualif. Not easy since we cover a 4 to 5 hours decalage in same Division.

Any have objection in NA to set the Qualif time and the duration of warmup to a static time that will be control by server and not by Bilbo? Why not do it for next race and not wait for 2007?

Qualif
8PM (EST) if a driver enter late, he start the race in back of grid.
NOTE : The late commer should start at end of grid. This is to avoid that faster driver wait to last minute to get in server just to avoid having to wait all driver to do the qualif laps.

Warmup session
As soon the qualif end, the server will automaticaly switch for a 5 or 10minutes countdown for warmup session.

Race
As soon the warmup session is over (5 or 10minutes) the server wil automaticaly start the race.

I think that is an excellent idea. It would also minimize alot of the discussions that go on during the warm up session...LOL IMO that is a big part of the delay.

This would also force us to get in on time.

GEEE I hope I won't have to go pee at the last minute...LMAO :) :)

It could be a good idea to go puke at the start of warmup rather than at the last minute before the race...

Hello
I would really like a set time. So I like the idea of setting the server up.
And freeing Bilbo of trying to get everyones attention to give the RDY sign.

I live by this rule (And my Wife hates me for it)
If you can not be early be on time if you can not be on time dont bother.

I might not be fast, But I am ahead of you.

I would like to see us go back to the old qualifying style. Maybe 1 15 minute session. I've never been a fan of single car qualifying. Especially since the real F1 has reverted back to that style.

I even hear (still to be check) that we can enforce the server that driver will qualif with same setup as for race. This would be interesting in the point of only practicing race setup, so reduce time to do Q and R setup. Remember that real F1 use 15 minutes qualif and same setup also. I would be in favor of keeping as is only if a qualif set alow us to do closer time. But an 3 stopper should normaly be faster in qualif more than a 1 stopper... interesting.

I have question about the server enforcing same setup, in qualif is we damage, will the car be repair? will the tire reset? Will the fuel reset for race? Its to be tested.

KKKKAAAAALLLLLLLLIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yo DUDE...LOL.....
You are right about starting those races late where you are.
You should PM Killa about testing with the euro side as they are short of drivers and could use even more competition.
As for the Qualifying.I think I agree with Aaron about one 15 minute session.
Let the fast guys go out of the pits first and then everyone else so there is no conflict.I am not fond of the same setup idea though.15 minutes of playing King of the castle sounds more fun to me..LOL....and having other cars to draft a bit helps to.Remember that works for the slower guys too. They tuck in behind and gain some time for themselves.

Ok, but good idea always come with a bad side. How will we be able to see if a driver did a fast lap on a clean lap? Cutting and wide driving on purpose or not that alow to gain few and alot of .sec? Humm, when you have 14 eyes over you, you know that you must do the best of you!

Its already alot of time to watch race replay, humm + qualif replay also?   but i realy like the idea of 15 minutes of qualif...

I'm not sure about running race setup in qualifying. Everyone will end up running 10-12 laps of fuel and all the races will end up 3 stoppers. I guess I could put up with it. I don't have any tricks to my qual setup anyway, it's almost the same as race setup.

As far as cutting goes I don't remember seeing anyone get punished for it in the last 2 years in qualifying.

Yup, all done clean qualif up to now. But in race mistake hapend, and it give a clean advantage on some track. But a 15 min qualif is the 1/6 of race, and alot (including me) did some cuts and got penalized. But up to now i think that all actual driver are clean enough to slow or abort a situation that could make him done a not clean/unfair fast lap.
