Relay for NAR

K, we talk alot about it, and its time to maybe get all driver report of the use of Relay. We would strongly like to use Relay fro NAR race. But we need to ensure that all is fine with it.

Is there any driver that have problem with the use of relay? Bugs or whatever. Please just post if you use relay and all is fine. If you just against the use of an anticheat, let us know.

Il start with me:

Im in favor of using relay.
I have no bug at all using it.

Hello
For me Relay is a problem

I have tried everything but when useing relay and logging in to a server.
My FPS go from 70 or so to about 30 or under and I can not drive like that.

I have asked for help at the relay forum (And no offence to anyone there)
But why have a forum when you can not get help.

I have dropped my grafics to medium to low or off even and it it barly made a diffrence.
I have tried diffrent Vid drivers updated went back to the origenal driver and it is the same.

With out relay I can log in to any server any track with grafics on medium to high and I get 70 or higher FPS. So it is specific to relay that is causeing it.
I realize I might be the only one but that is the prob I am having.
And beleave me I will not cuase a rucuss if admin and the rest of NAR decide to go with relay.
And I know that

in the begin i had some problems with the type area , after a resolution change from alt/tab outta game it was weird but now i run desktop the same resolution as game and all is fine.

Yeah, same here i stop having problem with relay when using same resolution in game than on desktop.

I only have 1 problem with relay and that is sometimes when I double click on the .exe it tries to reinstall itself again after days of it working well.

Apart from that it works ok here.

I'm fine with relay but I have the same problem as Steve B.

Hitman have you tried DX8, Steve B., suggested I try it and it gives you much better frame rate with very little difference in graphics quality. I have not tried it with relay to see if there is a Frame rate drop but I would assume it would help.

Hello guys

Sorry if my post sounds let say angry. But I am a litte frustrated.

Yes I have tried DX 8 - 7- 9 under diffrent resolutions the same as in game as on my desktop. I have reinstalled RF and Relay with the same outcome.

RC & Klaaz spent sometime yesterday trying to help me and figure out the problem.
After trying all of the above and them some Rc asked me to check for virus's and addware and all that stuff. Trying to figure out what is useing my resorces.
The program did find some addware but no Virus in anycase I deleted all that crap and my FPS in relay got better up to 57 FPS (But I was alone on the server) so I will have to check with some drivers on weather it will stay in and around those FPS. But with out relay I still get up in to the 80 & 90 FPS.
I still have more things to try.
1. Is to disable my HT (Hyperthreading) and see if it runs better.
2. The last resort is to format and reinstall everything (But that is just a big pain in the ass):lol: But I really do not think this is it

To Admins are you guys thinking on useing relay for Monza just looking for a timescale on this.

The timescale will depend on the problems people have. Relay definitely won't be required for Monza (although NA drivers can use it at anytime on the NA server if they want, even for the race), but we'd like to be using it in the future. How soon or late will most likely depend on the problems found with its use...

the only problem i have with relay is that i cannot cheat anymore. other than that it works great since i dont use it.

seriously(i am capable of it sometimes) i had problems of the server list in relay showing a server(na practice) and i know people were in there, but i would join and be by myself. im going to reinstall relay and actually play with it a little bit, it could be operator error.

Well, not really related, but even RaceCast sometimes gets "stuck" with old results (at times for more than a day) or stops showing the NA server for unknown reasons...

LMFAO ... racecast is a big shit ... made more hope for a good future than it is worth it!

yeah brad ... don't try to repair your pedals while you are on relay ... I did and was a cheater

sometimes when I switch to much game and relay are frozen ... but I do not switch in race so it won't be a problem ... only in practice ... but I do not like the window mode so I have to live with it. sometimes not able to join server that's true. but except this no problems with relay as far as I noticed!

maybe that's what it was bilbo. i just remember once or twice joining na practice through rfactor and some people were in there, then i left, opened relay, and joined and was by myself, maybe i inadvertanly joined the wrong server. i am known to rarely make mistakes. lol, behind the wheel maybe more than rarely:) you could kinda say everyrace

Well not that my 2 cents makes much difference, but I downloaded Relay the other day and have no problems with it. Not really sure what its advantages are though, but if I participate in a few races I'd have no problem doing whatever the majority wants.

Well Relay is an anticheat, and proven to block 'ram cheat' and more simple way to cheat (unvenurability, weight of car and so...with no MM) We dont feel that some are cheating actualy in NAR, but if we want to grow and accept more driver, one day will get some doing it. We also want to make shure that fast driver dont get suspission of cheating just because they are fast and good. If none have objection and all if working fine, wy not use it (that was our tought).

Happy to see its going well, except for Hitman, but hopefully a good solution will be find.
