I understand your point limpy. But for all season, we are using SteveB track. We will see for next year.
Its same as the mod we use, we wont change mod untill season is finihed, or at least, we can use and upgrade like 106 if all is fine.
Next year, we will have all winter to maybe take different decision about track and mod. Up to now, all is fine, so wy change 5 races before end of season? SteveB makes excellent track, and you (limpy) did a wonderfull mod. All NAR member seem to like it, so we respect the work you both did by using them fully to all member advantage.
Is it ok with you?

Limpy, im shure you would personaly be upset that we switch for CTDP mod, but we wont, since you did a great job. If it wanst of you, we wouldnt have drive F1 this year. Same for SteveB, if he didnt done all our track, we wouldnt be able to do a complete season on all same track as real F1.

I'll Vote for Limpy's mod and Steve B's Tracks.
Here's my 2 cents:
With 5 races to go it is not a good idea to switch to different tracks. Steve has worked his ass off to get them up and ready and I see no clear difference in quality compared to the public tracks. In fact Steves tracks are better and more suited to some of our (NAR) computer challenged members.
Limpy, to say that you would not be upset if we suddenly switched to CTDP is simply false. If your this disturbed because we are using Steve B's tracks, I think that speaks for itself.
Limpy, you have created two incredible mods which I personally have enjoyed all year long, I think they are better than the CTDP mod and are customized to our league. Steve has also spent considerable time and effort converting tracks for us and IMHO has done a fantastic job, especially considering the extra time he has spent getting the bugs out before each race. Just because ISI finally came out with a track is no reason to switch.
Would it not be more productive to use the forum to discuss racing, set ups and strategy so that we can all get more out of this expieriance.

WELL SAID Paul, and thank you.
The installer for ITALY (MONZA) will be released Friday then it is up to you guys which track you want to use.
Quite frankly I am fed up of all this track talk and childish attitudes.
To have all this BS with only 5 races to go is absolutely rediculous IMO and in fact is a TOTAL lack of respect.

+1 for Paul.
Some thoughts behind the admin reasoning (or mine, at the very least), in general and in no particular order:

Some thoughts behind the admin reasoning (or mine, at the very least), in general and in no particular order:
- Because of the game switch from F1Challenge to rFactor, the decision was taken, at the start of the season, to do our best to support those with poorer PCs. It would be quite unfair to change this before this season is over. For this reason, this is evaluated on a season-by-season basis, which is part of the reason why we did not make the switch to rFactor in mid-season last year (about this time-of-year too). We give our word at the start of the season about what the setup of the upcoming season will be and do our best to respect this "moral contract" to the end. There can be modifications/adaptations done within that framework but we won't change the foundations of the "contract" while it is in effect.
- Given the visual quality of SteveB's tracks lately, the compromise between visual frills and performance is not as significant as it may have been in the past.
- Unless we have no choice or there is very good reason to switch, we don't use beta/unreleased mods for official races. This is both to make sure things are tested properly before we commit to a mod and to save on the user aggravation of having to perpetually install new stuff and, even more important, continually have to adjust setups/driving due to physics change. Things are usually much more stable after release than during the beta phase (which is the goal of testing anyways).
- Unless I'm mistaken, Klaaz does run a public server with public tracks (among other things).
- We have pretty much committed to SteveB's tracks for these reasons: first the obvious one: at the beginning of the season, we had no choice, no options. Then, they are optimized for max FPS on slower PCs and they still manage to look better and better. Finally, the tracks are done and just require final testing/packaging, so there's not much point in not using them. About the just-released ISI Monza/Brianza track in particular, the situation might have been different if it had come out during the summer break...

Hello,
Just thought I introduce myself and sort of trying to decipher what the politics are behind this post
I'v been working with Limpy for some time now developing all the cars. Something that started out as a personal hobby earlier this yeare to learn modding, when it started getting of reasonable standard I contact Limpy about merging my cars into f1c 1.05 which has become 1.06 effectively.
My two cents worth. I would not be offended what you want to use. If you felt it would be better to use CTDP I'd have no problem with that at all. If you want to use the cars when they get released that'd fine too.
IMHO you should use what is best and works for your laegue. If one car or track is better than another you should use the better one. It is not for me to decide whether you think our carset is better than another.
I clearly have an opinion myself on this so I will tell it as I see it, the pros and cons.
When CTDP first came out I was stunned by the texture quality, the certainly did a fantastic job there, as for the models, although beautiful, not are all very accurate in shape, the Ferrari and Mac are, but the BAR and some other are not. Overall however, when it comes to the shapes and polished look (except for their lod switching) I think CTDP are the best so far to be seen. Having said that it is an 05 Season. Our carset has at least some fairly accurate 06 shapes and liveries of the current Season and overall (although I can't be sure as I have a fairly powerful PC) I think our mod will perform slightly better FPS wise in cockpit view.
The cars in our mod, some of the models are not too great, and are simply conversions of what I could get at the time. It may be I can get better shapes but I would rather make them from scratch in future. For me this was just part of the learning curve and this dropped out the other end
for what it is it isn't too bad, considering that two of us can make this versus CTDP manpower we can be fairly happy with what we have
When it comes to physics I have always like the 1.05 physics which is how I got in contact with Limpy in the first place. Hopefully with the latest engine we were working on Monday I think you will like how this is going to pan out.
For a good online scrap I don't think CTDP physics are the best. I love driving CTDP offline, Having done hunders and hundreds of hotlaps in the last few weeks, but for races the 05 rules suck for a start, and I don't think the CTDP tires are too good for aggressive racing for a full length GP. You'd have to nurse them to last the full distance, without aids they slide a bit from time to time and keeping the temperatures under control is a bit of an art form.
Having said that it is easy to drive any mod with any physics.
Anyway enough ranting. Hopefully will be able to talk in the private section soon.

Thanks for your honest comment. Up to my test, 1.06 mod have no difference on fps on my computer compare to 1.05, witch is excellent. So great job on it. As for me, since the new update of rf, i have no more problem of fps. As for now, theyrs no way we will change for CTDP before end of season, and its not eve crossing our head to make the switch. In winter, im shure a discussion will occur about next year mod, we will see then.

Hmmm,
I just installed the Brianza circuit and the graphics and background objects are great. The track sux though. There are 3 places that are going to cause major grief.I guess it is probably the best representation of the track. After watching the real race a non existant dip on the second right hander before the long straight to the fast chicane...I don't know what its called and I don't care...LOL...It will take a little to get used to.I did not see that dip on kimi raikkonens onboard camera.Other changes I do like obviously outweigh the bad ones.Only a handful of races left and maybe we should just concentrate on getting them done and leave the politics for a while.I am sure next year we will have a track pack made before we start..SO many tracks....so little time...hahahaha...oops....off to work I go ...later m8's...
