HudsonKerr sky for free

Post by klaaz »

this software is free, but when posting a screenie need to note the sky is made by Hudson.

read the readme to do it properly or just put the sky file loose in locations folder to make it show everywhere.

remember guys all that HIGH detail with sky and trees your FPS takes a big hit, that's why I don't bother to put in such high detailed trees and sky textures.

Steve, the low end guys really appreciate this!

And by the way:
The fps on hockenheim are really astonishing straight out of the box!!
Excellent work, absolutely superb!
And the detail doesn't appear to be suffering either (not compared to what I usually do to get the fps up)

yea thats realy looking good but indeed a very hard impact on the fps. i dont use the trees and sky files because i realy have no clue what that have to do with racing. i have no time to look at the trees and sky when iam racing.

Thank you so much for the kind words guys, I can assure you that I am working hard to bring us the best I can give.

What I would like to know from everyone is the GERMANY v1.03 how do you like the track surface??
Does it need to be changed?

If you guys want it changed it is no problem for me to do it, takes about 10 minutes.

Please let me know because this issue is really bothering me.

Thanks guys

Well SteveB-OOOOOOOOOOO i would like to see it looking a little better, if it's not a big deal, if you can make it look as good as your France conversion, that would be top notch m8 !! :D

This one looks better than France.
France and Indy had some material that looked very dark in DX7.

OMG looking at that screenshot makes me want to put some game developers out of their fucking misery!

Interesting trivia:

I have a CPU which runs at 3000 MHz, it has 1000 Mb of RAM to it's disposal.
My graphics card has a full T&L pipeline (and a lot of other crap) and 128 Mb of memory.

Now, keep that in mind and look at the screenshot above...

Right.. ok now some of you may remember a game called Grand Prix 2.
It came out 10 years ago(!!)

Its recommended system specs where a pentium (back in those days CPUs came one by one, not in dual tripples or octet cores)
running at a clock frequency of 90 (not even 1000) MHz and with 16 mb of memory (which is less than I have in my friggin L1 cache).
Oh, and you had to have a VGA (64k memory on those for the frame buffer) compatible graphics adapter.

Here is a screenie:
(It kind of makes you wonder if there is any progress being made at all)
