Spain track - link to a more 'framerate friendly' version...

Post by Craig Cookson »

http://rfactorracing.yusho.de/index.php ... fileid=166

The main GTR Spain conversion (35mb track) has a terrible framerate issue which means fps are rarely above 30. :(

The link above is for another version of the track (25mb). I think it is still from GTR (not sure) but it has much better framerates.

I told Klaaz I would post the link here so then the league can decide whether or not to use it... it has to be better than the 35mb version though.

(Click the "Jetzt downloaden" link to download track).

Well, I just tried this version, and tried the original version before installing ,and the original version had MUCH better framerates than this one, with the exact same settings, The original was averaging near 100 FPS, and i was lucky to see 80 FPS with this one. I did remember to delete the .HAT file first too :D
I may be slow, but at least I'm consistantly slow !

Where did you get your original version?

I get around 60-80fps with the track posted above, but I only get 30fps with the 35mb GTR conversion.

I've never had any problems with framerates in rFactor before so there must be something odd about this track. I can't use the 35mb version though - it is simply undriveable for me.

I'm surprised no-one has converted the old F1 Challenge track, at least it would probably run quite well.

There is a version of Spain and Monaco coming in the next days, SteveB is putting the finishing touches to them. He will post about them later tonight, probably (maybe not the tracks themselves tonight but how things are going, at least).

Hi guys,

NEVER FEAR STEVE B will be here.....LMAO JK :)

The status on SPAIN>>>should have it posted in a couple of days.(there is an issue with the NEW turn that I am having but will be done)

The status on MONACO>>>I just have to alter the starting grid positions.

Please look for these tracks in the OFFICIAL TRACKS thread around WED. MAY 10th, 2006

I am very sorry for the delay but the wait will be worth it.

Track works much better here. 60-100 fps as opposed to 30-70 with the original. This was on the lowest settings. I don't clock anything else.
I vote for this unless Steves track manages higher framerate and all markers ( hint, hint ;) ) at the lowest gfx settings.
