NAR NA Imola race

Post by Bilbo »

Qualification order for the race will be:
  1. 2Fast
  2. Titoff
  3. Mercury
  4. Steve
  5. EXX
  6. Brad
  7. Carrera
  8. Koma
  9. Paul
  10. Bilbo
  11. QcMike
  12. Aaron
  13. Kaali
  14. TheGrumble
  15. SteveB
  16. Xzwins
  17. Juan
  18. Hitman
  19. Flow
Make sure you have the right track (you need the one updated on 2006/04/18 ) which you can get HERE if you do not have it already (you should have received an email from Killahead telling you about this or you may have read about it in the forums).

The race is 62 laps. Be wary of the sand traps, they ARE different from what you may be used to. Also, since there are not too many places to pass on this track, please respect each other. This goes to those being lapped as much as to those attempting passes. Finally, make sure you respect the 2-wheels-on-the-track rule (and all others too!).

Good luck to all and please post your comments/race summary below.

I finished 4th in the last race, is there a reason why I am to qualify 14th instead of 16th?

Anyway,
That was the poorest display of lag i've seen in a while.I am therefore retiring until we get a decent server. This is just too ridiculous.
Pole position and everyone just disappears and reapears.Total bullshit.

Sorry guys, on the last 4th final restart, i went on grid and i found that my wheel have lost his setup, no pedal working anymore, only stearing. So i hit esc. before i get hit in back to avoid a major crash. I tried to see what whas going on and my game was slow. My computer coulnd handle so many reload of game without restarting my computer.

This is ok with me, it will only put championship closer, so its good for the show. Il have all end of season to try to catch up back. Its too bad, the 1st start was so perfect in front.

Cya in Europe

Actually I think I better apologize for my outburst as Bilbo and flow and others have worked so hard to get so many people on the grid and it is definitely a blast. It is hard to have a first start that was perfect and then have it aborted only to have problems on the second one.It was just so depressing to have a poor start to the season and then finally get a chance to redeem myself even a bit.Guess thats racing.I went out and put a few more miles on the pocket racer to clear my head and it seems to have worked. One of these days....pow...right to the moon alice....and onto the podium(hopefully).

Np Carrera, will find a solution, we seem to survive well through last year, wy not this year.

Im sorry if i didnt stay in server, as a Na Supervisor, i had the obligation to stay in game and help if another problem occured. My wheel was no more responding, and my game was so slow, i was hardly able to switch cam to follow driver, so i had to exit, it was impossible to type in chat window (it tried to see if it was possible) so i decide to close my game and hope all went fine for all the driver who was able to race.

Congratulation to the finisher, i dont have result, but i folowed you guys by racecast.

First, all my apologies for tonight's troubles. I don't know what is the cause but it could be my ISP rebalancing their stuff (they also got a whole new IP block to assign) as my connection is not as good as it used to be (4.3Mbps "real" download instead of the rock-steady 4.7 I had for years before, up still the same at 750kbps, nothing to write home about). If that's the case, there's not much I can do about it as the alternatives are either slower or less reliable.

Also, my apologies to whoever was victim of my spins in the first lap of the last restart. I managed to do relatively well in the other restarts but I scr3wed up when I should not have. I'm sorry.

Further commentatires from me will have to wait tomorrow when I have had a look at the replay.

What to say my

Post by Ruben Miranda »

Hello Guys

First win in NAR
What to say and how to feel
I have been driving my ass off and pushing and practicing hoping for this
Yet I am not that happy sad to say but true.
Even thou I trully raced under pure instinked (Spell check) I say this because between the lag and the low FPS I really could not get a good view or confertable I had to basicly not believe what I saw or felt but go with what I remembered from practicing.
That means every turn point every shift up and down braking excelarating was all done by feel.
When I did try to drive by what I saw I ended making mistakes and in to the gravel or grass I went.
Under these conditions alone was the hardest race I have ever did and man was I tired at the end of 62 laps.
I have not seen the replay (Don't know how good it is) but I will take a look it will be intrusteen to see how I did under these conditions.

Besides the above
I passed Brad on lap 1 I think were he went wide (Brad you were not kidding about being slow in the corners) it is like you almost stopped  after that is was about pulling away do my pits hoping for no mistakes (And there was 2 or 3 big ones) and coming home for the win.
I know if Carrera and Flow would have been there the story would be diffrent.
Carrera was at least a second faster So my only chance was pit stops and him making mistakes.
One never knows with Flow weather he was holding back or what but we would have had a good race.

I hope that I will get a chance to really get my first win under presure from drivers not from computor issues.

Well Congrates to all who finished :D :D
Hitman 8)
I might not be fast, But I am ahead of you.

COngrats on a well fought win Hitman. As we all know.Carrera does make some mistakes and some times they are doosies..LOL>...Maybe next time I will be in the hunt. The nurburgring though is a tough one to keep your concentration on and one mistake costs you big time.See you there.

Oh well.

My luck isn't with me this season. Lag is still an issue like last season and therefore I asked Bilbo to be last on the grid when race started since we had so much trouble with lag last race. It was really a mess regarding lag. I was afraid I would ruin someones race if I started from my qual time position sincelag was more bad than in F1C. Let's hope it won't be that bad again.
My race started well. Started dead last but managed to do some overtaking and I was flying IMO! After some driving I managed to get position 2 and Hitman was the leader. I believe I was like 25 or 30 seconds behind him and tried real hard to keep my pace consistent or make ground into him but Hitman was also flying and hard to get closer to even though I was .1 .2 faster than him. Well, I pitted on lap 18-19 and got behind Brad and some other right in front of him but I managed to pass them and got second again but I lost control of the car and hit the wall at Piratella I believe it was and damaged the car but I didn't damage car completely and I could see rear wing and suspensions on the right side of the car was affected. Managed to get back on track but car was damaged so I could only manage to get 23's and Hitman slowly gained more ground and I couldn't do a thing about it. I dunno if was I too tired or something but I must have remembered wrongly when the warning light of the fuel indicator turned on but I thought I had it all right but after some 19 + 23 laps of driving my car went out of fuel. End of game.

I hope I can make the next race. I am beginning to think about that it isn't too good if I play that late every fortnight. Even though I love the game and community so well I start qualify at 10 sometimes 10.30PM and race sometimes 11PM. :( On top of that I get frustrated for not being able to keep up with the fastest racers and the last two races I didn't finish the race...Frustrating and I kept blaming myself last time *G*.

Enough with my blabber mode thingy. Congrats Hitman on your, was it first win :?: :?: in NAR? Wow. Great! Great feeling, isn't it? 8)
It's not hard, when you know how......

good race! congrats hitman on the first win! all in all, not a bad race for me. i was never able to get the setup comfortable with fuel like it was at mayalasia, but i was not to far off. got a great start with the heavy car, almost lead a lap, went wide into rivazza and lost the lead to hitman(i told you id be slow into corners hitman, you werent supposed to use that information! lol) anyways the next lap i think i was trying to stay with hitman, and went off at the second chicane, droping me back to 7th i think. got going again, made up some positions, caught xz first, and made my only ontrack pass going into rizazza(i dont know how i actually got all those downshifts!) after that, took awhile, but i was able to catch the steveb,aaron,juan........kaali battle. i think steveb went off as soon as i got there, then kaali pitted, then aaron(i think) so i got to follow juan for a few laps, which was fun. juan pitted and at this point, im second, about 10secs back from hitman. so i just started to feel safe, when i spun coming onto the front straight, lost my front wing, and got to drive the entire lap.....slow. this was lap 25-26, i was going to pit lap 32, so a little early. im sure theres a way to change fuel while driving, i havnt checked, so i knew i was not going to have enough to go to the end. just pushed and pushed from then on, eventually got second. got to follow juan a second time, i was a little more racey that time, but still could not pass. my biggest moment of the race came on lap 46, had a run on juan going up to pirratello, and was going to try and setup for a pass going into aqua, and just pushed to hard into pirra, car snapped pretty hard  , it could have been a race ending crash, so i kinda chilled after that! congrats to all that finished, see yous at europe

Wouhou, Congratulation Hitman, what a great feeling hey? You were the king at Imola. You had the best setup, best driving, best computer and wheel that night. YEAH, race is not all about driving a car, just like in real. Mechanic and computer are implicated. I was victim of mine, but from statistic, dont think i would win for shure, i never complete Imola in my NAR life for the 3rd time... Hehe You did great, i know what im saying, we supervisor watch your complete race, congratulation again.
