physics test 1.05

Post by limpindog »

hi all
ive been making some change to the files because there was a few bugs that needed to be looked into

some stuff i cant fix untill isi release the new update but some stuff i could
so ive got these 3 files to try out .

F1C.hdv

F1C. suspm

F1C. engine

back up those 3 files in f1 champions folder before you replace then

Rfactor/Gamedate/Vehicles/F1_champions

and also when you run a server put a 1.05 test in name so people dont get confused

the brakes will now work even better they have been fixed with some help from another . engine it will now not keep smoking for 2 laps it will blow up if it on limit

front ride height and bumprange settings changed to try stop the bugs
some found

klaaz will have a server to test on at neruburg cya there remeber to back up those files :)

I like the idea of smoke, it anounce that your going to die in few laps, so cool down, now it will blow up in your face without warning?

i like the idea of realism, and on tv i mostly dont see f1 cars smoking badly on the last 3 turns of their qualify hotlap.

also there's a line in plr :

Display Icons="2" // Icons displayed if HUD is off: 0 = none, 1 = flags only, 2 = all

deafault is on 1

on 2 it will give an icon if engine gets hot next to the flags

I imagine since it's in a public forum, I'm allowed a go at these as well? I will hold off untill I get an answer though to be safe.

Well, wait untill Limpy anwser back, you have a good point. I estimated that for now, its a kind of test version, im shure it will be public if it works fine. So if you personaly want to test it, i assume you can, but wait for limpy to say if you can share it to more public.

*** Important ***

If you did not backup the files (like me) and want to get rid of the experimental version you have to:

1) install f1c 1.04 (installer)
2) install f1c 1.05 (update)

This is because F1C_Susp.PM is not part of the 1.05 update so you will have the experimental one causing the mismatch.

Are these file updates still going to be released 'officially'?

I did test them and they seem fine to me. :-)

Ask to Limpindog, maybe ask him here or by email. Maybe hes working on something better. Up to now, he didnt told us it was final, its still a test version in progress. Sorry. But keep an eye open when it will probably wrap up in 1 install file.

ive been seeing far too much of this front ride height bug and i personaly
recomend we use the files in this thread for race tomorrow

i did not race imola mainly because of this reason and now i seeing it more often i think we be wise to use files for the race , its just 3 files to replace , handling wont change much just some settings and issues been ajusted

i no some gona say its a bit late but i personaly dont want to race with that kinda bug goin on,

post now and get a vote goin , or just give a yes or no if you want to use them

I am all for the new physics.. the fewer bugs the better! otherwise the race will be all about rideheight this.. rideheight that..

The main reason why we dont update before race, is that the discussion was brought up back to late before race. We know that some driver have all personal life, and some are just not folowing aften the forum, so im shure that 4-5 driver will get in race server and will have MM. this will cause delay and bring too mucth confusion few minutes before race.

Before todays races, in server, all driver will be informe about the new physic that will be use. So if drivers dont get ir before next race, it will be theyr own fault. We expect Killa to make an official anounce about it.
