Fuel usage in F1Champion

I have heard from driver that some have problem with the fuel in the F1Champion mod. We cant put more than 17 lap of fuel, so that means we cant make a strategy of less than 3 pits (17+17+17=51) And some repor that you can make as exemple : 10 laps of fuel in your car, you can do 20 laps with it.

If any have the same problem, please let us know. The thing i tough after, is maybe that the server that those had the problem, the setup of server was maybe on fuel usage off...? of less than normal?

Im sorry, i cant personaly check for that, cause my PC in broken, i will receive it back at end of weekend. My motherboad had 3 condensator that was blow,

suprisingly, it was still working, bad, but was working, lol .

Please, some one test the fuel usage at NORMAL and let us know.

Also, LIMPY, can you adjust the mod, so we will be able to put more that 17 laps of fuel in the car on the new hdv update?

A while back I thought there was some sort of problem.
I put in 6 laps of fuel and good go 10 laps.
I think we where at Silverstone when I said this.

I will do somemore testing and see.
I will say this that I went to host yesterday and my fuel usege was at 10X or something like that so someones dedi server tha I jioned had fuel use set to that instead of normal.

So this as you said flow could be the problem they are having.

I will be hosting or juining later this eve to test this.

Dam Flow I hope you gey your comp back in time for this sunday.

Yeah I have experienced that strange fuel problem you've mentioned Flow. In fact I experience it everytime I practice. Some days ago I tried endurance test (not very promising test though 'cos I haven't tested enough LOL but I had to try LOL) and I put 17 laps of fuel and I gave up after and entered pit and still had fuel after 24 or maybe even 25 laps. So the fuel thingy is very strange. I tried a 3 stopper at Bahrain (17-17-17). Somehow it needs to be fixed.

I did a few long runs yesterday with normal fuel usage. My findings are that for Barhain, you need ~5 litres/lap. With 75 liters, I could make 15-17 laps before having to pit, while the garage screen was indicating I had fuel only for 10 laps. I'd say that, as a quick rule of thumb, the garage fuel calculations are off by about 50%...

I haven't tried filling the tank fully as I don't have any hope of making it to the end on 2 pitstops anyways, given my current (lack of) training.

... And I thought my daily driver was hard on gas...

I tested and with (If I remember right)
In setup 24L = 10 laps
I went out pushed as hard as I could and did 20 laps before running out of fuel at the start/finish line.
Dam I wish my truck got this kind of fuel mileledge

As a point of reference

Also even thou the settings say you do not have that much fuel on bourd the car/phisics sure know it is there as far as whieght goes.

So we could assume (but all need to test) as Hitman did : 19-20 laps with 10 laps of fuels, expect little less than twice (+/- 2X) of fuel from what it indicates. Watch out, normaly setup, especialy tire pressure, will change that rules.

Conclusion, DO A 100% WITH FULL PIT STRATEGY BEFORE NEXT RACE! Keep an eye open on the fuel you will use and write it down, so if one go empty, he cant say its not his fault.

Limpy, find another provider of Fuel gage indicator...

OK here is what I found.

I used the settings from F1 CHALLENGE 2005 FERRARI engine.ini file.

These are the settings I used in the F1 CHAMPIONS engine.ini file>>FUELCONSUMPTION=3.311e-005
FUELESTIMATE=1.000

In BAHRAIN I set my fuel load to 12L =2LAPS of fuel, next click would be 3LAPS(hope you understand that)

I crossed the finish line to start my 4th lap and ran out of fuel.

So I got 3 FULL laps with 12L of fuel.

That sounds just about right to me.

Let me know what you guys think.

this is a track bug and has nothing to do with f1 champions.

the average lap will cost 4,5 liter<bagrain slightly less>

in my testing i needed approx 240 liter total to get to the finish, so even a 1 stopper is very possible on 100% bahrain

If I am correct we have to remember that these are converted F1CHALLENGE tracks so using any Rfactor settings will not work..IMO

When converting an F1CHALLENGE track the LAP length doesn't change neither do the sector points, IMO it has to do with the cars ability to make it around the circuit with the alotted fuel load according to the engine settings.

I don't mean ANY dis respect to anyone believe me, but I don't see it as a bug just different engine settings.

How can you use fuel consumption settings from the FIS cars to a converted F1CHALLENGE car.

PLEASE, PLEASE don't get angry I am just trying to make sence of it all and trying to help find the solution and to me this makes sence.

I could be wrong but it sounds pretty logical to me.

problem we have with Rf tracks the fuel is ok ,converted tracks they off

now i could play with hdv fuel settings and alter it for the f1c tracks but that meens im gona get loads of flack from rsc about RF tracks not having correct fuel

so kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place lol

can we not just check the AIW of an rFactor track, and change the fuel usage on converted tracks to the same number? for example, at orchard lake GP circuit, here is the fuel usage: FuelUse=55066.000000

at Bahrain it is : FuelUse=124615.687500

i know there are differences in lap length and such, but i would think we could get a somewhat accurate figure this way

on most of my testing i used about 240 liter for a 57 lap race, maybe the 1 stop variant a bit more usage as i recal. to be save take 250 liter .

Yes Aaron, but depend on your setup, expect little difference of few laps.

So 10 laps fuel equal around +/- 18-20, but only a test from you will give you exactly you consuption of fuel.

I got about the same numbers. If you're driving and want to be safe but don't want to do the math, just allow roughly 5 liters per lap. The real number is probably more like 4.25-4.50 liters but that can depend on many things.

The best thing is still to try it and see how it goes (before the race, that is!)

The "laps indicator" is off by at least 50%, again you can use this number for simple "safe" calculations, the real number is probably closer to 60-70%. But I'd recommend going for a liters per laps calculations instead of relying on the laps indicator...
