Pitting in RF

Post by Ruben Miranda »

Hello Guys
Well I do not if it is just me or this has gone unoticed or what.

I have been testing a little since I have not had real time.
Started with tire ware fuel brakes
On the above they seem to be on the same basics as the other game.

But one thing I noticed was pitting.
For me I would go in for a pit and it would move my view from cockpit to a view from above. Heres the problem it was not putting me back in to the cockpit for racing.

If you are experiencing this problem you need to go to your plr file and
Under Driving Aids change this line
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car (except autopit)
From 0 to 1
This will leave you in the cockpit durring the pitstop and as soon as the car drops go go go.

Hi Guys,

I have a question for you all about pitting,

I tried RF lastnight for the first time using the F1 champ mod 104, thought I would see how the pits stops go (just a small test race) I pitted into the funny coloured box thing but nothing happened, what am I doing wrong?

Regards

I know what you mean. I was really confused too the first time I tried that but that's how it's supposed to be LOL. There aren't pitcrew waiting for you and no lollipop man either. :? It's a bit trickier than F1 C but in rF you can see when car is lifted and dropped again and a bit trickier to see when you can get out of garage area. After a few pitstops you will get used to it. 8)

In F1C, if you were on the "pits" LCD screen (fuel, tyres, repairs, etc), the pit crew waited for you to exit it before doing any work on the car.

I wouldn't be surprised if it worked the same in rFactor. I tried some pitstops (you can try it in practice too) and did not have the problem since after being bitten a few times in race in past seasons, I have now made it a habit to NOT be on the pitstop LCD/HUD page when pitting...

Is it cause you need to call your pit with the key, to get the crew prepared?, not shure, but when i pit, i always hit the key to anounce im going in pit. Could work with out it, but i never try to enter pit with out anouncing.

Hello
Well I am glad to here it is just not me being confused about the pitting in RF. I thought I was all alone.

So Far what I have found is
If it is a scheduled stop that you have already setup for fuel.
It will aoutomaticly get the pit crew ready (Apperently they are ghost) Also there are to ways it will tell you it is time to pit
1. The mesage bourd will come saying something like
PIT CREW READY Also a green light on the stearing whell will light up.
To get the measage I beleave you have to have Measage bourd inabled.
You can set this under display options.

2. If this is a unscheduled pit stop say you lost your wing or something.
You do need to annouce it. By doing what Flow said
Is it cause you need to call your pit with the key, to get the crew prepared
If you come in unanouced the the car will just sit there.

As it has been stated
There is no pit crew You will not see the tires come off the car or any such thing.
What you will see is when you come in to the circle of fire (Your pit stall)
The car will lift sit there a few secounds it then will drop and you are ready to go.
I did not see any signal that the car was ready (If anyone do's please tell us) In any case once it hits the ground go go go. Thats what I did and did not recieve any penalty.

Still want to test this more.

That is true FLOW.

If you DO NOT request pit at least 1/2 a lap before entering your pit crew won't be ready to accept you.

The same was for F1CHALLENGE, if you just entered the pits WITHOUT hitting the pit request button, when you reached your pit box you would sit there for about 10seconds before the pit crew would do anything(happened to me a few times) :(

Try it out, configure a button on your steering wheel for PIT REQUEST then test out your pit stops.

Watch the fuel meter, as soon as it has the full quantity you asked for (and the car is on the ground already), off you go...

Hi guys,

My pc specs are as follows

Amd x2 4800
DFi lan party expert M/B
4 x 1 gig ocz ram (I use virtual pc alot hence the ram)
2x XFX GeForce 7800GTX Extreme XXX Edition 256MB
2x 73 gig raptor hdd's

Forgot to mention the soundcard, thats a soundblaster FX gamer

I've also created a profile within the driver to use the second vid card

as I said I thought it was a good system
I get 200 odd fps sec while sitting in the pits or driving around on my own, start the race I get low to mid 40's even the steering is slow to react on the start

Yet it plays GTL perfect with loads more cars too

1 more thing

Hello Guys
Another thing I found out today well pitting.
You are not released from the stall untill it is time.
Another words you can be down on the ground and let out the clutch and your car will not move untill the time is up.

Atleast you will not get a penalty for leaving to early.
