Well
My Qualify lap wasn't my best 5th on grid.
At the start I got off the line great comming to T1 I saw Juan and Bilbo go wide so I tucked in tight and had them both beat but as usual I spun(to excited). Gathered it back up retaining my 5th position.I caught Titoff after first lap and had Steve in my site.
I was catching him pretty fast and was ready to line him up to pass but at the hairpin I lost the back end and spun again.I let the guys behind me go by put it in gear and saw the guardrail getting close so I put it in N again and put it into REVERSE too soon and stalled it.

CONGRATS to Bilbo and to ALL who finished.

Guess I have to try again in BRAZIL

Lucky this isn't real F1 or I would be fired by now.....lol

About my race: The race start was kinda like the last div2 race at Monza.. Starting from pole, I braked early for T1 and Juan jumped for the opening, going wide and hitting the wall and being lightly hit by myself as I went wide too to make sure I did not hit anyone going for the inside, since I braked early. SteveB couldn't accept the lead as a gift and decided to spin himself just out of T1 too, leaving Juan and me as both P1 and P2, respectively.

For the next two laps, I was basically looking at Juan's gearbox, trying to find the good time for a pass, which was complicated by the fact that we had differing lines in many of the turns, so it sometimes looked as if I could pass only to have the opportunity shut very suddenly. Coming to the bus stop chicane at the end of lap 2, I tried to make a (very stupid, my apologies) move on Juan but ended up hitting Juan's side. With no spin or apparent damage done, we go on our way again, Juan still rightly in front but still mentally shaken from the hit, I spin my car exiting the chicane and lose the front wing. Going all the long way around the circuit back to the pits, I decide to adjust my strategy a bit. I started up with fuel for a 3-stopper but since it was only the end of lap 3 when I had to first pit, I decided to only have 2 more pitstops and took fuel accordingly.

After that, things were looking OK until about 10 laps later, I spin exiting T1, losing the front wing again. Once again, going the looong way around the circuit, I make my 2nd pitstop a couple of laps early. Exiting the pits, I decide to get my act together and concentrate on gaining back some of the lost time. I knew I was faster than Juan (since he was holding me back in the first laps before my spin) so I went for it, made a Kimi of myself and climbed from the back up to being in position to challenge Juan. Unfortunately (for him), about 6 laps from the end, with the gap down to 3 seconds in front of me, Juan spun in Pouhon, handing me the lead and, ultimately, the win. I decided to continue pushing in the last laps so as I didn't lose my concentration and finally made it to the end.

It's sad that while I'm celebrating my "Kimi", Xz made a "Montoya" by being taken out by a slower driver. Hopefully, Xz will recover and make that championship last to the end, or at least defend his 2nd position from Steve who does not seem to be satisfied with the lower step of the podium!.

Thanks to all for your participation, the last few div2 races have had quite nice attendance. Keep it up! 8)

I just finished watching the div2 replay from the viewpoint of a few drivers and I would like to remind all racers of the following rules (my personal comments are in italics):
  • If you hit someone from behind and he spins or lose control of his/her car, you get a drive-through penalty. If you don't drive THROUGH the pits within 3 laps, you get +60s added to your final race time and repeated violations are penalized by 10 championship points. If he/she does not spin, don't pass him/her and you will NOT get the penalty.

Driving THROUGH the pits means NOT stopping at your pitbox for repairs and/or fuel. If you have damage, the sane thing to do would be to 1st fix your car/take fuel/whatever like a regular pitstop then go around the track and immediately come back for the drive-through (not stopping at your garage). If you're unsure wether or not you deserve a drive-through penalty, the respectable thing to do is probably to do it "preventively" as it reflects a much better attitude than ignoring a deserved penalty.
  • If you lose your front/rear wing, you can ONLY finish the lap you are on. You either go into the pits or you go over the start/finish line and finish the race right there (if on the last lap).

If you spin before the entrance to the pits, you are expected to enter the pits immediately, not try to go for another lap. While you're driving with missing wings, you are a danger to all because either you're much slower and/or you risk spinning yourself at any moment and can take anyone out with you.
  • When you exit the pits, you HAVE to stay inside the pit line or you will be given a penalty after the race (+20s on your final race time).

If you touch that line, you will go to hell (or heaven, if it's worst for you). Be afraid. Don't touch it. Ever. This has been mentioned often and even just before the start of the race.
I don't personally plan on making formal complaints because most of the incidents were, IMO, race incidents with probably shared responsibility. This is more like a courtesy reminder because I believe there could be/have been complaints made (dunno, I'm not an admin and I'm not sure anyways wether the rules' application allow for "responsibility" to be taken into account (but my feeling is that it doesn't)) and these are the rules we have ALL agreed upon by joining NAR...

Please feel free to discuss or ask for clarifications if this post or the rules are not clear enough. It could affect this or next season's rules (or the "text" of them).

Not yet but since the weather forecast for this weekend is rain, rain and more rain, maybe I will finally be able to find the time to make all my NAR replays available. Which is not ALL NAR replays, just those from races I've participated in or replays I could get my hands on one way or another...

After I have put what I have online, I'll start accepting "donations" of replays I do not already have and put it on the site.

Kaali, hang on to that replay of yours, I will want it soon (I wanna study YOUR strengths too if we're all gonna be racing together next season!)

Sure thing Bilbo! Though I am not sure if it would be better to get replay from host or does it matter? Sounds like I'm having second thoughts but I'm not! :) I just thought hosts replay might be more accurate but mine will be available at all time if needed.

See you guys on track!

Wow Brad! Sounds like a good thing to have all those replays especially when you've participated in the races.

I wanna save all my races too but I am not sure if I want to keep that 5 laps of race I've had at Monza!

See you on track!
