finally set up a rfactor dedicated server on my client pc :)

Post by klaaz »

This wil make things much easier for me.
Now i can host a dedicated server on my client pc and use the game pc as server for golf and f1challenge.

I did it by using the firewall of windows whahahaha i never thought that would ever help me, but it did. just by typing in the portnumbers shown in the firewall file in the support folder.
34447 TCP Session, Race and Chat Information
34297 UDP LAN Query Information
34397 UDP Race Event Information

My normal firewall was overprotective, like my mum lmao.

-NoAids-Anotherjoint ,no password ,open for testing :)

hope to see some of you on track :)

EDIT: hmm too early to jump in the air.
though the firewall test says everything is ok, i cant seem to join.
hope to improve things, but i am getting desperite now.....

Hello Klaaz
When I host a dedicated server on another pc with RF.
I can only jion thru the IP window where everyone else was able to jion the regular way.
I am not sure but I think it has to do with us (Host) being on the same line.

You might want to give it a shot.

i did shut it down as nobody came in for a few hours, i assumed it was closed for all, eventhough the firewall test said it was properly configured.
But after my experiments on opening ports on the server<game>pc, i wasnt able to host on that one anymore also even if i took the firewall off.
so i used a norton ghost file to get things back like they should. i might give it another try soon, thx for trying dude, i appriciate :)
