SILVERSTONE CTD
Hi Everyone,
A friend of mine has loaded the NAR Mod (soon to join us)
The game loads fine but when he goes to load the SILVERSTONE track about halfway into loading it CTD's.
He went into the LOG file and deleted the SILVERSTONE HAT file to see if that would help but it didn't.
All the other tracks load fine.
Is there anything I can do to correct this?
Thanks
Steve B

He could also try reinstalling the mod (that deletes the previous installation, including HAT files, before installing everything again).
If he's running as a restricted Windows user, then try installing as an administrator.
Installing the mod on a fresh, clean, game install should always work.
Finally, if it's not working, try re-installing the mod again and at the end, right-click and copy the result/log window (you have 10 seconds to do it) and send me the result.

SteveB, just for confirmation, did he reinstall the whole game from scratch (back up the Save folder before uninstall and manually delete whatever remains in the old F1C folder after the uninstall) and then install ONLY the NAR2005 mod (and 1.1 update)?
After doing this, can he start a single-player race or is it just a multiplayer problem?

Hi Bilbo,
What he did was installed the NAR MOD (1.0 then 1.1) He went to load the Silverstone track, it CTD.
So he went to ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS and uninstalled NAR MOD.
He checked the EA SPORTS folder for any remaining 2005nar files and they were all gone.
Paul then reinstalled 1.0 then 1.1 into the EA SPORTS/F1CHALLENGE 99-02 folder and the same thing happened.
Hope this helps you.
thanks

Stupid question but
Did he try Silverstone before he installed the NAR mod.
and does he have any other mods or updates that was installed be for the mod. Specifically Track updates.
Also open up this and make sure this track is there

Actually, it should say "2005NAR_Silverston" (without the "e" at the end, this is on purpose).
Steve, your friend really should try doing a clean install of THE GAME and not just the mod. Due to the way F1C works, there could be files outside the 2005NAR* folders that cause side-effects with the mod. I have done my best to eliminate all conflicts I could think of between RH03, RH04 and the NAR2005 mod, but I could have missed something and I also couldn't make allowances for all the other mods on the planet.
Reinstalling the game itself ensures the NAR2005 mod operates in a "known" environment and minimizes the chance of problems. Your friend could always copy the game somewhere else before reinstalling it, if he wants to continues playing his other mods (presumably) without reinstalling them. That's if he wants to drive Silverstone...

Hi Guys,
Sorry HITMAN I didn't see your post, yes in RH2004 the SILVERSTONE track loaded fine before he loaded NAR MOD.
Paul and I did a test session last night and it went GREAT!!!
He was lapping in the 1:22's which is pretty good for starter.
Brad also came as did KOMA lapping in the low 1:18's and 1:21's respectively.
Thanks again guys for your help.
