T1 line

Post by Flow »

I woud like to know if a T1 line woud be better than a normal connection, i think more about a new game like rfactor, cause i think for F1C its useless, no hope for F1C. Maybe, i say Maybe i coud have access to a T1 line from my probably new location business. T1 line are avaiable in a room from Videotron, our cable distributor. But i dont know how expensive it is, probably alot, hehe will see.

T1 = 1.5Mbit full duplex

How good it is for gaming depends a lot on how well the provider peers with other networks. Generally speaking, a T1 usually has a rather low local loop latency, making it a better choice than cable or DSL. However, the local loop latency is only part of the equation.

Hello Flow
A T1 line would be fantastic depending on it's speed.
Even for F1 C it would be much better then local connections.
But it is very expensive a while back I checked in to it and the cheepest one (Don't remember the speed) was $600.00 a month :shock:
It was way out of my league :lol:

A T1 is always the same speed (24 x 64kbit).

The price premium is usually because it is sold to businesses with uptime guarantees, something you'll never see for regular home service DSL or cbale.

A T1 compared to our current cable speed (Videotron High Speed, 5.1Mb/s down, 800kb/s up) is about 1/3 our current download speed but 2x the upload speed at roughly 5x-10x the monthly price, not counting the installation and/or modem fees...
