R Factor Deicated server test

Hey all
I installed R factor on my spare comp and would like to do some testing.
Dedicated comp specs
AMD 2.8 processer
Memory 512 (Will try to upgrade to a gig)
V-card Nivida TI 4600
Motherbourd Foxconn (Don't remember all the specs)
No Sound card (Will might upgrade that) Just need Speakers
Win ME (Will be XP pro real soon)

Broadband Connection
Test results
Communication (Upload) 668.3 KPS
Download (1MB file) 12.6 sec
Rating Not bad

(Notes)
I ran the Dedicated app of R factor and I could see the hosted race but everytime I went to login with my game machine I got this error server timed out no matter how I set up the server got the same error. But I got in just fine by typing in the ip address of the server. I ran there for a hour with a few AI with out a problem. So I don't know if this is a glith that needs to be fixed W/update or what but we can test this or if someone knows whats wrong speak up.
Of course I will give out the IP so we can test everything.
Over the next few evening I will be testing and hope all that can will jion in.
I will post times and the IP starting tomorrow.

The last time I joined a server was in May and since then I haven't joined a server. I had the same problem like yours Hitman when trying opening that dedicated app. Sorry about your problem but I think R-factor forums might know the answer.

Humm, get in touch with Limpindog Hitman. He help me to set the server i created for testing a few weeks ago. I never created since, but one thing is you must not use the link from desktop, you must select a sofware directly from the folder. Il try to see when il have time, and let you know, for shure one is working and the other no. My server i ceated was fine, and unkwon driver coud join and run clean. I left it open for more then 24h and all went fine.

The better way of hosting is when you use the little sofware, you wont be able to drive, its like a little window, you can do waht you want on setting, you can chat but you cant see what is going on on track. Its the best i can say up to now.

I did look true the forum and did not see any post on the Timeout error I am getting but I did find this file

I tried that fix and the rFactor game wouldn't even open.
So I installed the old patch and it worked again.

Hey Steve yes same with me that file dose noe work.
Well may be it do's now that I can't start RF I don't get the Error:lol:

Hello All
Well it worked and it seemed to be pretty solis a couple of people came in and had no problems loging in well the ones I talked to anyway. I only got a ping from Limp who is in Europe and he was pinging at 125 or so not bad for the distance but it was only us 2 in at the time.

Hopefully more of us can get together and really put it to the test.

Unless there is someone else who is going to host the up and coming FR race.

Hello All
Well I ran the Dedi sever for R factop on my Extra comp today.
And it seemed to be running and staying strong. we had up to 12 drivers and I saw no lag and was doing some real close races.
The only problem is that the guys kept voting to change sessions where there is no way that I know of to stop this from happening.

Among the Drivers that where there was Limp who lives in Europe and he was pinging around 150 and that not bad.

Also Steve B was there and he was pinging a little power at around 100 to 125.
From what I saw I did not see anything higher then 200 and that was a driver called Thor and I do not know where he lives or what kind of connection he has he left before I could ask him.
He could have been on a 56K connection for all I know. The point is that even then I saw no lag.
So RF has lots of promise as to Connection's.

Like to Here from Limp and Steve B on this.

Hi Hitman,

I am in Toronto Canada running DSL connection and for me the game ran BEAUTIFUL.
I was surprised when I was in the garage and saw all the players in game and how smooth it ran made me even more excited to see them launch the final rFactor as soon as they can.

It also amazes me when a player joins the game,WOW if you didn't see the name at the bottom of the screen you wouldn't even know anyone was joining....hehehehe.

WAY TO GO rFactor!!!!!
