I WANT TO MAKE SURE.

Post by SteveB »

Hi GUYS,

Well I got word from CART I am an official NAR driver for NA2 FERRARI TEAM.

I have done a search for installing the NAR mod properly and couldn't find anything.
I have downloaded both files and installed them, the game starts fine in TEST DAY but if I go online it switches to 2004RH.
Also when I choose the NAR mod it gives me 3 drivers to choose from, why is that?

I am just wondering if I installed the game properly.

I may be slow, but at least I'm consistantly slow !

i think your installation is ok. The NAR mod will indicate rh04 since Bilbo have created the mod with car and track from rh04, but 03 physic. If you go trought car choice, you will see all driver that was registred at begining of season.

If you install rh04, np they run eatch other with no conflict between them. The advantagge is that rh04 give you few advance setup like 3rd spring and other... Nothing that make big difference for some driver.

Enjoy, and welcome to NAR family, i will update you to driver's list later tonight.

I need these info:

Your age and a signature to put beside your name on web driver list.

The background screens are straight from RH04 so that's why you still see it mentioned. I feel it would have been theft if I had taken their screens and removed their mark. The important thing is that the season icon at the top of the screen HAS to say NAR2005 v1.1 (if you chose it in driver configuration) otherwise the mod is NOT installed correctly (which is kinda hard to do since you only have to confirm the install folder and press OK).

Some teams even have 4 drivers, that was because when the mod was made, the Euro div had not revolted yet and turned their back on the mod to go RH04-only, so the Euro drivers still have their cars in the mod even if most will never use them. You can safely choose any car in multiplayer, you name will always come out correcty. The personal cars are more for bragging about (as in "Look mom, I have my name in that game") and to enable aditional customization (driver photos, personalized rear wings) to be made in the future (but all such projects are now on indefinite hold). If you play the mod in single-player, you will get the actual NAR driver names in the grid presentation and accident radio reports, nothing very important.

hehe yes it was a fun night of practice, i even coud fight with Brad, i think im realy liking that track... but its not a place to do close driving, fast S curve are not taken same way as all, some brake sooner and get out faster and other driver get in fast and out slower. So to all be carefull on next race. Im shure the driver who will keep is car on track and make less mistake will win... I mean that going out of track is deadly at France... youl get in a wall so fast that you wont beleive your already in it, hihi.

SteveB for singature waht i mean is go on web, select a driver like me or carrera or bilbo or other (but some dont have any yet) and look on the line of age, name, location, just after that you will see a little sentence that represent you or a little thinking, or whatever you want..

Sorry i didnt update web site tonight, il do it tomorrow instead, il have time. I was more in mood of practicing a little.

Your realy able to get fast enought fast time to fitht with driver, just keep practicing, be carefull at other car back wing, and enoye you future race, as simple as that.

As for reference at France, time was around 1:15.xxx to 1:21.xxx, average in the 1:18.xxx

Was there Mercury, Carrera, Brad+SteveB+Bilbo+(Sagato)+Flow, i think im missing someone, but it was a fun night.

Ya I know what you mean about following to close.
I agree this is a great track to race on.

So average is 1:18xxx so I am right in there when I can keep my car on track hehehehe.

See you all tomorrow time for some sleep and get up early to see the real boys lay down some rubber in FRANCE.

good night and good day to all.

Good morning and Good day to all,

I forgot to ask, I have been reading some posts in the forum to get familiar with everything and everyone here, I've seen that you guys use the RH v 1.04, well I also have it but with v 1.05 update.
Could that cause a proplem either with the game or even the physics of the car?

Also if I was to change the vehicle sounds will that cause a mismatch with others?

Thanks Steve,
Ya I wasn't a fan of them either lol.
I usually wear headphones to race and the max. rev was killing my ear drums, besides I think there are more realistic external sounds than that one.

I introduced TEAM SPEAK 2 to Klaaz yesturday, has anyone heard of it?

Yo Steve B,
The rh2004 sounds are a nuisance really.Loud and crackly and annoying to the ear at high volume.A 1:18 average in france is great for first timers.
You have a lot of time to practise for france as it is a ways away. Its important to get that first corner right as it is the first corner of a 100% race.Usually after the first lap I go through it flat out in 7th gear.Keepin your line through it is important as there may be a car beside you off the start.Just watch your mirrors to make sure m8.

About TeamSpeak usage (or anything like it), it may be OK to use in practice if it does not cause lag, but since our league races usually stretch the server's bandwidth, usage of ANY bandwidth-consuming application is strongly discouraged.

Also, NAR being an international league, not everyone correctly speaks or comprehends live, spoken English, even inside the NA divs, so the results may not be as good as you expect.

Finally, since ALL chat (even quick chat) is strictly forbidden during league races because they cause distractions, I would expect TeamSpeak et al. to be similarly restricted.

Hi carrera and bilbo,

HOLY flat out in 7th I have to hold on in 4th lmao.
AMAZING!!!!

You guys are GREAT drivers.
In the practice session last night I was enjoying just watching you guys drive.

OK bilbo, np I have read all the rules when I joined and understand them fully and will respect them 100%

As for team speak I was just wondering and understand that it would be just a distraction as the chat would be.

Hehe, I think you're mistaking T1 ("Grande courbe") for T2 ("Estoril")...

T1 can (almost easily) be taken flat out in 7th since even I (very far from the best driver) can do it, you just have to make sure you hit your turn-in point correctly so you get to the inside curb. T2 is usually taken in 4th or 5th (depending on your setup) around 200km/h at its slowest point, if I'm not mistaken and you hit it correctly.

Yup, i get in the 1st part of curve at 7th gear or i stay on 6th if a car is in front, just in case, caue when in the middle i have to get down to 4th gear and go straight the end of it at 7th gear at 312km/h or so.

Your time your doing Steve are good enough to bring you on podium, just try to be steady lap after lap, that pay muthc more.

100% races with no aids are long, endurance races. As Flow said, you're much better bringing your car relatively slowly to the finish line than crashing it very fast in a wall... Given the number of drivers we can allow in each race (10 at best), you can only LOSE points by yourself as, from the start, you're pretty much garanteed to score points if you make it to the end (inside the 90% rule, of course).
