Hello Gent's
I know I have not been around much or at all really.
But some time has opened up for me and since the end is near for the F1 Season.

I thought I would ask if there are plan's already for a winter fun series and of course is there any interest.

There's no formal plan yet for the winter but if you or anyone want to organize something or make suggestions, you're welcome. My server is always available.

Hello
Thanks Bilbo
I would be willing to try and put something together.
If there is entrust of at least 10 drivers minim

So any suggestion on Mod and tracks and or if you would want to particapate.

Speak up.
I will say that in the past we have had some great fun races.

And also would like it not to be F1 cars or tracks
Tin tops or endurance would be good.

Oh and by the way I was under the Name Hitman but changed to my real name just in case you are wondering who the h..l this guy is.

Would it be for euro drivers too ?

I would be up for a bit of tin top racing if the race time was not to late.

Yes this would be for Euro's drivers and anyone else
As for times I know there is a big difference in times between NA & Euro
So from I remember what we did in the past was (Time wise) 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM west coast NA time.

But we can work on something that hopefully we can try and accommodate everyone. :)

IIRC, last winter we ran the winter events at normal Euro time (8PM CET, maybe 9PM) for everyone. While it's not ideal for NA, it's a bit less bad in winter than it is in the summer (well, at least for me).

And since these are strictly "fun" events, there's less pressure to spend a lot of time in practice so you can still have some kind of winter break (from F1) for those who need it (which I am).

So if I am right and understand what you are saying
8:00 PM CET Euro it would be 11:00 Am PST and 2:00 PM EST yes or close to it. Yes

:?: Will that work for the Euro's and NA drivers who are entrusted :?:

You got the times right. For reference, we were usually 5-7 drivers at the events last winter, pretty close to end-of-season race participation. While the numbers were not impressive, there was a good and relaxed spirit around most of the events that made them quite enjoyable still.

I think a lot of the fun comes down to the mod and track choice. For example, while it would make for a nice challenge, running the 23km Green Hell with only 5 drivers would probably not be the most interesting event (I mean, I might as well run it in Time Attack by myself in GTR Evo and it would be more fun than being 2 minutes per lap slower than the leaders that I would probably never see again after the start anyways).

Yea I would not pick a track like that either don't know the track but I amagine it would be something like the old Hungary or something but worse.

I would probably look for decent/Popular tracks like Sebring and something in Europe.
Even run timed events 90 minutes and set it to where the last half hour goes in to night racing of course that only works with tracks that have lighting and the cars have lights.
I am looking at mods now any suggestions guys :?:

Hello
Yes I agree I actully tried both mods last night although I like the FVRv8 mod.
The PCC 2007 mod was really fun and would be a blast to race over the Winter.

I saw that there are a lot of series in the PCC mod
I just ran the main series (Don't remember the name right now) what series are you guys trying or want to run.

I am pretty sure the different series all run the same cars... So it wouldn't really matter which series..

i think i ran the asian series :P

anyway, a good tip might be to add 2 clicks of rear anti roll bar - it got a bit silly with the deafult setup when you didnt have enough steering lock to catch slides :)

Hello
I looked threw the files and there are different HDV files so there might be a difference in the series.
I say might because I did not bother to look at each file for differences.

I would say we just pick a series (Any one as there are plenty of cars) and that way we are all on/In the same car.

This is from the GSMF site.

This mod includes the Series of Germany, Asia, Australia and the Mobil1 Supercup, Support Series of the FIA Formula 1.

You can choose between the different series but only the Supercup Series has the PCCB (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake). In the "Carrea Cup Series" you have all 4 series in one (designed for online racing). They are using all the normal steel brake disc system.

So it looks like the only difference is the brakes in the Supercup series. So, it looks like we should either use that, or the Carrera Cup series.

I would definatly be up for a bit of fun with the V8 supercars, mayby on a few australian tracks like Adelaide Barthust Surfers paradise etc. :) And mayby do something like a short sprint race and main race where starting order will be the reversed results from the sprint race.? Just throwing up a ball. :)
