Thank you Bilbo.
Comming into this race I didn't feel prepared at all, I only did 3 nights of testing (ty to Bilbo for the setup).
My qualy session started out slow I was so bloody nervous. I managed to calm down....LOL
I had pole for a few laps till Bilbo edged me out by 0.015 of a second WELL DONE!!
Race start was great, Bilbo and I had a drag race to T1, I saw he braked too late and I backed off and started to move
to my left and didn't see Carrera comming and we touched, but he got by with no damage (sorry Carrera).
I was able to stay with Carrera and tried to keep the pressure on hoping he would make a mistake and he did on lap 1 exiting the left corner just past
the hotel.Carrera spun and hit the wall
Now the pressure was on me with Juan behind me and I couldn't shake him off, I was only able to open up a 2 second gap until Juan made a mistake
at the same place Carrera did (I think). I felt a great release from the pressure and stayed focused and started to open up the gap.
I knew that Bilbo and Juan pit at the same time and I was on my in lap so I tried to make the best of it so I would come out ahead of them.
I exited the pits keeping my position now just had to bring it home.
A few corners before I started the last lap I only had 4L left in the car and I was deciding to pit or continue and had slight brain freeze and touched the wall
exiting the last turn and had to really short shift to make sure I didn't run out of fuel.
Not the best way to win (50%race) but I will take it.
it was a nice way to finish off what was a very frustrating season for me.
Congrats to Bilbo for 2nd.
I want to thank all who participated tonight and throughout the 2009 season it was a BLAST!!!
CU at the ROC!!
