I have to recheck but I beleave that Melbourne is or was going to be a night race also this year.
A night race in a F1 car will be very difficult IMO

Night race at australia = renewing the contract
No night race at australia = no more race there...

Still a question of money, autralia will bring more money if they race at night...

I am sorry but a night race for F1 is just ridiculous IMHO.

I'm with you Steverino, Just another "money grab" by Bernie. All of a sudden F1, after years of being the most popular form of motorsport on the planet, needs to change the way they do things? Very odd to me...

We are fan of a sport that is run by UncleBerni who for him F1 is a business... just a bad reality.

I think the problem is not night races as such , it is taking f1 away from its heartlands and dumpinng it in countries that only want races for commercial reason

all these new races are missing one ingrediant motor racing fans!!!!

australia is an exception i guess but most of the night race candidates are from countries with no interest in real motor sport

what is the problem with night races? why is it wrong in any way to race in the evening? why is it wrong to not have to get up at 3 am to watch a race?

i think it sounds cool, and im sure they will have lots of lights so it wont be any difference from racing daytime...its just like when i competed in slalom, you see things even better in the evening with the big ligts on then you do daytime

They should mount big headlights on the cars like the ones they use for night Rally's for example.

Again I agree 100%

All these changes Bernie is doing makes me long for the 70's era of F1 to return.

I also agree with DK... legendary tracks will be only a memory and the way I see it that will be in the very near future.

I watched the Canadian GP at Mosport for many years only for it to be scraped from the calendar and saw an amazing track that drivers LOVED.... literally fall apart.

The owners tried for years to get the track back to it's glory years but it never happened and the best race they have there is the ALS (American Lemans Series) which isn't that great these days because most of the teams don't come which leaves us with a very boring 3 hour race.

With Bernie's quest to make F1 purely a money grabbing business ( I am sure it is already) I hope TRUE DIE HARD F1 FANS won't loose interest in the sport because that will be the death of F1.

Just my thoughts.
