Happy Thanks Giving

Post by Ruben Miranda »

Hello to all
I realize not everyone here celebrates Thanksgiving

But for those who do May you have a great day and don't forget to give thanks for all the wonderful Family friends foods and do not forget to give thanks to who or what you beleave in.

For those who do not celebrate may I say have a great day and weekend anyway.

Of course we should give thanks every day since it beats the option of being a daisy pusher by a long shot

Hey Drop, I live in St Louis < home of the Rams > and they are so bad this year, they don't show their HOME games here, LOL, if the game is not sold out by noon on the Thursday before the game, the game is blacked out to the home city.

omg that is terrible lol!!! ,

i have followed the rams since the 70's when my uncle (who is a naturalized American) sent me a tshirt :)

it nearly got me lynched when i was in boston a year ago amongst a load of patriots fans lol

at least they beat the 49rs which is some comfort , especially for me aw i have a friend who is a huge 49rs fan!!!!!

Thats funny that they would black it out when the Lambs them selves don't show up for there games. ehhehehehehehe

Sometimes I don't get the business thinking of this.
They want fans and there team is not doing well so lets screw them and make them pay to see it even thow the team is doing crap this season.
Lets piss of the fans to.

That's just an NFL rule Ruben, same in every city. If the Patriots didn't sell out their game by noon on thursday, it would NOT be on local TV. Just a rule to make sure the stands are full, lol

Not big into Sports anymore

Post by Ruben Miranda »

Hello
Yes I know Steve
But my thoughts on a business point of you. This is specifically true when
Team is not doing well
tickets prices are very high Things of that nature.

If they for example (IMHO)
The team is not doing well and the only ticket sales are from die hard fans
Witch might account for 30% to 50% of ticket sales.
and the revenue from that is not enough then if they took that number on a given game say 50% and After 50% of stadium seats being filled then put it on television.
They would get
more fans in time = Ticket sales in the future
Commercial revenue now and this will grow with time as it gets more popular.
I would also think that if (On of games) not very poular teams if they brought down the ticket price lets say 25% this would also help get the fans in. I think that Dad wants to take his son to a game but do's not have $150.00 dollars to spend but if they knocked it down some maybe he could do it.
I mean hey the seat is not selling anyway so there is no money coming in better 75% of a price seat then 0%.

Again just my humble opinion

I agree 100% Ruben, the prices for sporting events is getting ridiculous, even baseball, which used to be a bargain is getting out of reach for the average Joe to attend. I have been to 3 games at the Cardinals new stadium, and all 3 of those games, were free tickets, lol. Where I work, they have 4 season tickets, and at the beginning of the season, you get a form to fill out for 3 games you would like to see. Usually you win one of those games, and you get 2 of the 4 tickets, Those seats are $48 apiece, then you add in a few beers, a hot dog and a pretzel, and you are spending about $80 per game, per person !!
