I'll post a race comment tomorrow, just want to mention something to you NA drivers:
The fuel estimation is still a bit off. I had to pit one lap early and I think Limpster actually ran out of fuel on track.....

So watch your fuel and put in for one extra lap  :D

whoa all hell broke loose for me this race....i dont think there where one thing that didnt happen. gah! my favourite this time was managing to shut the engine down 2 times in a row while searching for the pit button.

and a 20 sec stop due to damage (sorry drago i messed up a little, i just figured you would brake late with me so close behind :) ) which btw was a miiiinimal damage.

and first time to lose a front wing during a nar race, damn i wish that was something i could avoid.

but i think the worst thing for me this race where the missing signs prior to the chicane. damn, that messed me up for a good 25-30 laps...at LEAST. if i find the one who did it, GRRRRR :) :)

i was so lucky to end up third despite everyting....wuhu, more points to mclaren. or maby we are disqualified for exessive pitstop time.... hehe :)

good one guys, mega fun when its so close.....i just wish i would have had the common sense to 1: not turn the engine off twice and therefore ending up with killa and kai in my butt and 2: disable the repair option.

So THAT'S what you were doing Kaffe......I was wondering what the hell happened there when you without reason slowed down, eheheh

Dropkick......I might dropkick you for what you did :D

I had a lot of fun this race.....or.......it was intense all the way at least. I was closely followed for the most part of the race which I find to bring a lot of stress......heh. RoadRunner was less than a second behind me during most part of the first stint and the WHOLE secind stint and then we both pited on the same lap the tension was nerve braking! I though I did an ok stop, 8 seconds flat BUT his damn lollipop man let him out right infront of me and I had to brake and turn to avoid him!!! Man I wanted to kill that lollipop man for a few laps, I was following RR in rage but after 4-5 laps he made a mistake and I could squeeze past.

Great race RoadRunner! It was fun!
Also, a big thank you to Drago for sharing his setup with me :D

This was a fun race, 10 drivers on the grid and many competative. See you all in Turkey!

What a race :?

I really had a wonderful running. I could exercise a lot of pressure on my opponents. I drove most time of the running behind Killa.
I could overtake him in the 2nd pitstop. My stop was 7 seconds only
This was really narrow.
Then we drove many rounds in reverse order. However, then a small mistake happened to me and he drove past.
In round 63 I lost by an inattentiveness my front wing. So a dung. With it the 3-rd place was lost. Well. The next race will be better. 8)

As for me, i always carry at least 2 to 3 extra laps of fuel than needed, just in case i have to stay on track to win 1 or 2 sec on oponent while im empty and pacing faster... unless my tire dont alow to do so. Having 1-2 extra lap fuel is always good. Imagine if you notice you partner in pit at same time as you? You can also use that extra fuel to stay on track 1 more laps, that save my ass once when Xzwins pit in just in my face, i was able to move back on track at stay in race. For shure, if the fuel setting of track is realy not perfect, then only practice will tell if you be ok.

Also watch you game setting Killa, if you enter too soon at one of you 1st pit, if you game is set to put the amount of fuel ask, you will loose what was left in your thank. You can set you game to add amont of fuel ask, or put exact fuel amount requested. I hope you understand. But in the 1st case, if you enter pit 1 lap too soon, the total equation is screw, you will mist 1 lap fuel at end.

1st ; pit in with 1lap fuel, ask 20laps fuel and you will pit out with 20laps fuel

2nd ; pit in with 1lap fuel, ask 20laps fuel and you will pit out with 21 laps fuel

Starting from pole i loose my position in favor of Kaffe , but i managed to gain first position again at the end of the strait on second lap. As i saw i was gaining lap after lap i only had not to do errors till the end. After second pit i slowed down a little and in a safe way i reached the finish line of the 70th lap.
Sometimes it was boring , but i'm happy for the win :) .
Congrat to all who finished .

Killa I am just curious.......was that with the v2_AIW file I posted?????

I did a 20 lap stint with it (v2) and it was perfect....I crossed the line to start my 21st lap with 3 litres left.(in testing)

For me, fuel was about 1 litre off over 25 laps, which I think is very good. Remember that your car setup and how you drive affect the fuel consumption a bit. It's also a safe habit to add 1-2 extra liters (if not whole laps) after you get to the number of (predicted) laps you want. I know that, for me, it does NOT make a difference in speed, particularly not in a race.

In any case, the only way you can ever be sure is to practice over an actual stint, which is a good idea for many more reasons than just testing fuel consumption...

I believe boost setting affects it as well but ok i always take one lap extra to be sure, and if i get out of synch i just adjust mine strategie.

About the race, i thought i was in good shape for this race, in qualy testing i did a 16,8 so was close to drago but for some reasons mine race setup wasnt good at all.

Anyway i had a bad qualifying, or i made it bad actualy cuz i thought i made a cut so i backed off, but later in replay i saw i didnt made one actualy. That 1st section time was definatly for a 17.0 17,1 lap.

So starting from 8 position i decided to go for a 30 lap first stint, but that didnt realy payed off. It actualy made things more worse, mine normal brake settings didnt work for this strategie and togheter with the fighting of the car to get the times i wear off mine brakes to quickly. I lost mine left front with 12 laps to go, and in last 4 laps i was without so just limping home. 5th place isnt that bad then i guess. But some others where simply faster this race, grats to them.
Regards,
Mark Aalberts

Ahhh......I didn't know you lost the amount of fuel you have when you make a pit stop.....that sounds unrealistic :D I'm gonna change that so it adds fuel.

Steve B, I had the 2nd version of the AIW, I downloaded everything on race day since I, as usual these days, didn't do any practicing until the actual race day.....and it seems to work asd long as I get lucky with the setup or if I ask someone for a setup. ....anyway, it was the 2nd version.
I actially put in fuel for 27 laps but I pited on the 25th with only 1 L left so I must have a fuel consuming driving style

DP, I was worried that you might have been on a 1 stop strategy which was not good in terms of me and my 2nd place ambitions. Then later on in the race I noticed you backing off and I was happy again :D

This was a really good race, 3 drivers that were on simliar race pace as me (Kaffe, DP, RoadRunner....and Klaaz also I think) which made this race very intense! Great fun! :D

Hahaha!

....and you know what more, I pited one lap EARLY....on the lap when you were supposed to make your pit stop......I was hoping for you to be close behind me so you would have had to wait behind me

....too bad you were an eternity behind me by then already *pow*! 8)

haha you bastard i'll definitly try the same thing for next race...now its just a matter of being ahead :D:D

btw its interesting about this race, i could (and would have) cleared you and kai easily with a normal pitstop in the first rounds, but my shutdown of the engine twise ontrack which got me you guys up my ass didnt help the cause. anyway, i broke slightly late and touched drago into turn 2 lap2...which gave me a yellow damage on the front wing. nothig major, nothing that was noticed, just a liiight touch. But when i come into the pits, it says 20..and im like WTF?...so i was 10 after there....then when i LOST my front wing i had a 16 sec pitstop? ... ?? :?  8)

had i not done that i would have ended up queuing behind you yes.... heh

indeed it is!

I was wondering what took you so long in the pits, since I know (or I assume anyway, you told me some other time you "forgot" to uncheck it) you usually don't repair damage.

Really weird though that the pit crew repaired the wing when it takes shorter time to replace it! Perhaps there was some other minor damages aswell.....

btw....Ron Dennis is pissed....he says you must follow the team ord...*hrm* the pre-decided strategy from now on Kaffe.....if he orders a 1 & 2 victory you will damn well obey that order....capish (spelling???)....? 8)
