They have been around for a while - made excellent mods for F1 Challenge too but most people preferred the RH mods as CTDP often push the limits of hardware (too much).

Does this latest mod come with any tracks? I was hoping it might have Turkey.

I've looked at some forums on this and what worries me a bit is that 98 % of the modding effort seems to be centered around getting some meshes and textures to look realistic, while 2% seems to be focused on the actual physical realism.

sad they released it although the sounds got only released to 60 %. would have been cool if he could have finished this job.

I was myself looking forward to a little challenge in the sounds between ctdp and RH.

I'll give ctdp a try when I am back from my summer tour. but I guess RH will be the top as ususal.

great is that ctdp has a new guy for the physics now. I hear a lot that the ctdp physics would be close to F1Challenge 2005RH ... well it is a 2005 mod and I think it is pretty normal that a guy who was racing in F1Challenge before is doing similar stuff. Congrats that his 1st job on the physics are that close to what he was used to drive, that it reminds everyone to it!!!!

they will improve a lot in the future and for sure some good stuff will get released by them. maybe one day the engine and hardware will be good enough to solve the fact that ctdp mods are pushing to much to the limit ... but there the limit is for

... have a nice day! ... have fun! ... I DO !!!

From what i understanded 2 top sim drivers have helped develop this physiks Sebastian Smallenbach and Dominik Binz, then not unknown i guess.

I think they know what they doing so.

Though for some reasons i dont like the physiks,.. "yet" guess i need some more practise with it.

For now the beemer from ISI is much better or lets say i like that one more.

I just copied the .sfx file from ISI's BMW Sauber to the CTDP folder, and renamed it to CTDP.sfx, love those sounds !! Here is the file if you want to try it, remember to back up the original in case you don't like it !!

HAHA lol Mark, the thing what you said is thrue sebas and dom helped with the CTDP mod, but look at the FSR forum what they voted???? they idnt vote fore the CTDP mod??? what the hell? are they crazy? when i have done some helps with this ( great mod) i have surely voted fore the CTDP mod.

Maybe they are scared to change from mod thats possible yes, but to me it sounds realy strange. b.t.w i realy like the CTDP mod. but my pc is doing very strange when running it. my pc is very uptodate, but is still crasing when i go back to windows when iam running the CTDP mod. and it also cost me a lot off time loading a track ore something. that worries me a little.

hmm.. If I was doing the physics for a mod I would probably choose the 2 worst formula racing drivers (like f3, or skip barber or better yet f3000)instead of the top 2 sim drivers...
Why not AJ or Alx?
Or better yet why not just copy the hdv from the BMWs? Assuming ofcourse it was tested and developed by the actual f1 drivers. If not, then I'd say even the BMW hdv is useless.

I'd say that the real drivers are probably subject to wall-to-wall NDAs...

I know Alx was testing for SimBin.
I really can't imagine a small formula class drivers NDA will affect him testing for a f1 simulator...
The smaller formula classes are same regulations for all.. so no specia technical innovations he / she may reveal.

AFAIK, Alx IS officially working/consulting with SimBin and SimBin seems to have a serious and privileged relation with the FIA GT admins and teams, probably for being "part of the gang". I would not treat this as a "typical" relation between a game company and a racing series, it's more like the exception that confirms the rule, IMO.

did not know 2 guys that run no AIDS have also tested this mod ... what I knew was that onlineracer.de (where I was when I started with simracing) have been testing the mod for a long time because they are runing their season with it and where checking it for bugs this way.

I will ask the guys about the problem that the pc is running slow and will tell you about it when I got an answer. I'd wonder if this did not matter to them but maybe they found a way to solve this ... we'll see ... I keep you up to date in this.

I don't think we can compare physic's between CTDP F1 & ISI F1 BMW.
Well I guess we can but you can never get them close nor should they be.

CTDP is 05 wtih a V10 engine where the BMW is a 06 with a V8 engine.
And or course wings have changed and all kinds of advansments that would make the cars very diffrent.
Well in anycase becuase of the engine diffrence they should be diffrent.

ok I got an answer now ... I will try to translate it as exactly as possible!
GONZO ... the guy who did the physics (translation by meo) wrote:the pc does not run more slow because of the CTDP mod. this is an illusion, fancy or a figment of the mind (he explained it in 3 way's himself).

this might be caused by:

if you race with 20 cars you are using a lot of RAM. so if you finish rF, windows has to claim this RAM for itself again, which would be pretty normal for new games with a new graphic, specialy when you have less RAM.
well ... I am not going to comment this answer ^^ ... I got this answer and told you about it now!!!

sry can't hide it ... we little stupids that we did not think about this simple answer to our question
