Well Well,
What a start(finally). It looks like flow had a little less wing than me on this one.I made a mistake and he got past.I shadowed him as much as i could but he was a bit quicker down the straights. The spare wheel actually was better than the momo for driving comfort.I may have to stick with this one for the races.I totally overcooked my tires pushing and pushing. Finally I spun and went nose first into the wall.Man,just one race i'd like to finish but 100% is a long one.I was just going to wait out and see what strategy flow had.Thats when i got a little greedy on the throttle and the tires told me so.LOL>...

Hehe, Carrera it was a fun chase/battle we had. I needed to stay in front to eat time on back driver, i was on a 3 stop, and didnt want to be stuck behind a slower dirver. My wing were 40/45 and i was on a 3 stop (rad3/brak4). I think we would have fun doing a full 100%. I was chacing you for a while then tried to keep little distance and wait for a mistake. My goal was not to slow us down from back field to fight for no good reason. we were on almost same pace. From were i lost you Carrera, i felt very lonely. the only other driver i saw was laped car. Was hard to keep concentration, i was watching time, tire, and enigne temp. I didnt spun, no big mistake, all went maybe too fine compare to other.
was nice lonely fun race, was still not easy, but i went to end in 1 peace.
Cya in Hell in 2 weeks...

Monaco, Were the pole will be the only luckiest guy on track, lol !

I'm pretty much still speechless. My first 2 stints were flawless. Something I've never close to have done im my 3 years here. I came into the pits and was trying to get in as hard as i could and may have speed coming in. Well I didn't know if the spped limiter was on or off and it was off. All that hard work was ruined. After the stop and go I came out like 5th. We'll I was there in 4th trying to catch Juan. I was not in a very good mood to say the least and wasn't really putting a dent into the 5 seconds I was behind him. Pushing hard I came towards the last turn and got some understeer and went off. Granted I tried not to lift much but it started moving towards the wall instead of the track and I was pretty much just a passenger. Hit that wall sticking out it it took off the wheel and suspension. I get pissed pretty easy but I must say I've never been so furious with myself as I am tonight. I really felt like this race was where i needed to step up and make a run for the championship. It's somewhat ironic that it's all but ended and chance of it. I'm not sure where the motivation is going to come from at this point.

Aaron, I don't know about you, but for me, my main motivation in racing (and golf and, actually, life in general) is to better myself. The others add (lots) more fun, but I'd do it alone just for the sake of it (did that many years ago). It's probably why I like sites like FTL (when I have time) because it makes it so easy to see your improvements.
For myself, I'm happy with my race, especially since as of last night, I did not plan to participate in this race due to lack of training (only ~50 laps spent trying to get a driveable setup before p2m-noob1234 had pity of me and gave me one of his really good Q setups and another 50 laps with a custom-made race version of same). Especially since I was dead last (again) at the start of lap 2 due to a mistake of mine in T1 or T2 which led me to let the field pass (the Renault turn not being the best of places to get back on track when there are people around!). After that, it went quite well, except for barely being to keep the car on the track for my first sting, especially at Campsa (I wouldn't be surprised to get a penalty) but I finally managed to "catch" how to drive there (mostly) correctly for my second stint (that's what lack of practice does to me).
I was on 3 stops but I broke my front wing at Banc Sabadell about 3-4 laps after my 2nd pitstop on lap 31, so I decided to stay on 3 stops and took for 31 laps of fuel while the repairs were done. I would have like to change tyre compound but did not think about it at the time. When I realized, I decided to go for it and "baby" the tyres as much as I could. I managed to keep the interval with the guy in front (Merc) stable for a while and I was faster than Steve behind me. I thought that was gonna be it to the end of the race and I was just basically cruising around, to make it to the end of the race.
I don't know what happened, if it was because of pitstops or incidents, but all of a sudden, about 15 laps from the end, I found myself 6th with Xz coming out of the pits 5th in my face. I decided to push a bit and, surprisingly, the tyres were still working quite well. So we went like this 'til the end, me being probably faster but unable to pass due to Xz's great, clean, defensive driving. I just could not get a good run on Xz and the one time I was closest, I got mixed up in my reference points (a.k.a. "brain cramp") and ended up braking way too early for T1. Anyways, that was great driving by Xz and I only have myself to blame. Still, it was very intense and lots of fun.
I had another attack of brain cramp when I passed QcMike at the end of the back straight. Once again, I got confused in my brake markers and ended up braking much too late, which would have been very dangerous to both of us if Mike had not braked early to let me pass (as I was on the inside). I'd like to apologize for this and for a few minor hits on Xz and TheGrumble (I think). Some of the moves I did were doubtful.
Anyways, I'm happy just to finish (really did not expect to) and the few battles were quite entertaining. I'll have to train much more for Monaco now...

Yo AAron,
I know how ya feel m8.
I have all but given up on the championship as I haven't finished a race yet.
I am not really interested in the championship now as much as just racing for fun and a few good battles.Seems like when you race for the championship anyway you get very nervous and tense.I don't really like that feeling too much so I just try to relax and see what I am capable of.When I came out of the fast uphill "s" and spun the tires and hit the wall, normally I would be furious as well but I wasn't.I had a great run up until that point and enjoyed the battle very much.Bilbo has a point of just trying to better yourself each time.I am just trying to get relaxed enough to enjoy the drive and not worry about the championship for now. After all,we have a great mod and it looks like your speed is greatly improved over the years.I say we just keep rockin and rollin m8.After such a great start for the NA division it looks like we all are used to that infamous turn 1 and did great to avoid it.

Hehe, i know what you mean Aaron. In europe, i tried to catch up in front instead of just saving what i had. I push to catch Brad, i spun and hit the wall. All that for nothing cause Brad DNF and Merc in front spun. I was so angry at myself to stop right away, but i keep going and went lucky, i won.
Even folowing Carrera, my goal was 'folowing' not trying to overtake him at the 1st occasion. I prefer him in front instead of driving in my miror to watch him in my ass. If Carrera would of been on a 2 stop, my chance were 0 base on pit time. My only hope were waiting for a mistake and push just little to keep up.
Carrera? with your speed, just complete 3-4 race in 1st and hope i DNF 1-2 time and your at top of championship. The season is young, and its not over. Im just more lucky to be at top, but it only for fun, and im shure i can get my ass kick out of list if you guys just get little more luck.
To Bilbo and anyother driver, ask for it, i can share my setup anytime. The only things is that im not good to make perfect setup, i just tweek here and here and when it fits my driving, i use it. BUT if i share setup and the setup make a driver loose, dont complaint. This is my only concern, im afraid to share my setup, cause the driver could have one better than mine. My race setup is normaly complete on the days before the race, i always work on them. Feel free to ask anytime, it will be a pleasure to share them.
Great race

Hello
Looking at the times I new I was going to be in troable plus I went really safe on my setup and that even slowed me down even more.
I was hoping to stay close to the top but my first lap I had to really back off at turn one just as I was going to turn in a Toyota came flying in and the only choice I had was lock them up and stay straight. Then on turn 4 I over cooked and went in to the gravel I think I came out in last.
From there I had to push hard making mistakes a long the way nothing big.
Me and XZ had a great fight untill he pitted. He really do's drive a wide car
It was fun battleing with my team mate.
Did not expect to finish on a podium but I will take it was a hard and great race.
CU in Monaco where the men are seperated from the boys.

Just out of curiousity hitman were you on a 2 or 3 stopper? I knew merc was on a 3 stopper like me but I was unsure of your strategy which is why i was pushing real hard coming into my 2nd pitstop.

I did a 2 stopper and it worked out well for me in hine site I could have pushed the car a lot harder but as I said I played it safe and brought it home.

some people i swear.........

jk, sorry about that buddy, i kinda couldnt stop and slid right between you and steve b i think.
ok qualifiying, messed up in the chicane, i was hoping to get back into the 13s but oh well. horrible start, i could not get my wheel to align straight(more on this) and almost missed the start because of it(in the replay you will see me turning the wheels alot right before start) dropped to 7th 50 meters after start of race

accidently dive-bombed hitman and steve b, got RIGHT behind merc into 2, then almost into the back of him into 3 or 4. part of the setup of running a one stop is tire pressures, unfortunatly for some reason i had to start really low(pressures) on this track to keep them from burning up, so the first 2 laps are interesting to say the least! i was comfortable with my pace, i knew flow would be on a 3 stop, hitman probably 2, kaali if here a 2 maybe 1, and maybe everyone else on a 3 stop. seems like this track doesnt like fuel, but i found a setup that could run with 115liters: first 2 laps 18, then 4-6 17s, then 8-12 16s, with the last 7-10laps in the 15s. so trying to hold gap to merc, vistors come in on lap 4, little distracting, then just tried to keep going and run my pace. everything is fine, untill the last section, get a slide, the damn wheel does its shit again, now im turning 30degrees left to go straight. could have stopped, reset, then kept going like mayalasia, but oh no, i gotta be tricky and try and do it while i drive. go off track, hit wall, spin trying to get away from wall, hit said wall again, lost front wing, hit escape, and almost threw the wheel into the wall. im so tired of this shit. and its not even the wheel, its my computer. when i put rfactor on my brothers new system, 1: wheel never fucked up 2: i was a second faster per lap..........this one is very interesting. it doesnt make sense to me, but i did a 12.6 on his computer, but could only do a 13.7 on mine with exact same setup, wheel, wheel settings(both ingame and in controller profiles) so clearly, i need a new computer to keep racing
i may or may not race monaco, kinda sucks to put in the practice, then basically have a mechanical problem that is no ones fault, sorry this is so long, im just so fed up with this wheel problem(computer, but im used to calling it the wheel problem) that i had to vent. ill definatly do some monaco practice, but just not sure if i want to get all set for a race, to be out quickly(it happens most at tracks like monaco, so im really screwed)

brad, when my MOMO Force started acting up (lost calibration for the pedals) I thought it was time to throw it away. Turns out it was just a case of bad cabling. Some cutting, soldering and electric taping later and the wheel worked like new again.
If it works on your brothers box and not yours it COULD be a case of the cable bending differently when hooked up to his computer. I know, it's a longshot, but it IS possible.
A bad cable can be very sneaky.

i have a black momo(2nd one) and with both pedal sets after aboout 2000 laps the decalibration started(mostly when there are visitors, to wild).
my expirience is the pods will get a bit loose cous contruction is really bad.
what i do is: i cut a sponge in an u shape and put it arount the middle screw to get upward force to keep pods in their place.

Brad, for your lap time reference of load of fuela and doing 18-17-16 i was in same situation. But i test a 3 stop, and find that i was able to do 16-15.
I make the equation : +1 sec faster for 66 lap and +1 stop (3) takes around 30-35 sec... Il still thericaly be 30 faster than you. Hehe, so i think was my best call to do a 3 stop. But you never know what situation in race can screw all those hope.
Thats why practice is realy helpfull in all kind of test.
