Question for Dutch?

Hi Dutch,
I know you have a BRD setup, my question to you is this,
How do you get on with the gear selector paddles? I’m looking at buying my self the V2 maybe with the quick release.
Reading on the brd web site it does say something about the wheel has 4 buttons but two of them are mapped to the gear paddle switched!
Does this cause you problems with playing F1c or R-F?
I have the speed7 pedals (3 pedal version) now that I have bought the tune up kit I’m very happy with them.
Years ago 1995, I bought the digital edge gp500 steering and pedal set, of which I still have, but it uses a game port and not usb, I found the gear paddles to slow and got very frustrated with them (playing GP2 if my memory is correct)
Any help would be appreciated

Well i have them a year now and never had any problem with it so far. Im realy happy with these setup.
The V2 yes its true that the 2 buttons on the steer are combined with the shifters,.... to be honest ive been to lazy to figure it out to solve it. Mayby i should do it but atm im used to not use them so basicly i only use 2 buttons on the steer one for pitlimit and one for going trough the LCD. All other things i do with the keyboard.
I dont know if you realy want to spend so much on this steer. I dont know if you know but its also posible with the speed7 pedals to combine them with other steering devices from logitech etc,...
Mayby its an option for example to combine the black momo steer or logitech sidewinder with the speed7 pedals,...
Also the V2 doesnt has FF

for me its not a problem because i always have driven without it.
Good luck with youre choises

Hi Mark,
Look thanks for all this info ))
You have a very good setup.
My current wheel is ok, but I’ve never really been 100% happy with it! I do use the force but on very low, (not really to bothered about FFB) When I was doing the FSR WC back in 2003 I had the FFB disabled.
So what to do! I know the BRD stuff is at the highest quality and it will last for donkey’s years.
The wheel I’m using is the original red Momo with the leather covered wheel (I have two of them lol) I have very little space, so having my momo pedals plugged in, as well as the brd’s is a pain.
One last question if you don’t mind?
Do you use the gear paddles to change gear or do you use the buttons on the wheel, the reason for asking is, with my old digital edge the paddles were to slow
Thanks for your time
Best regards
Chris

With the pedals ofcourse.
I can remember with mine old steer ive driven also with the on steer buttons because i had to (the shifters where broken) anyway the problem is if you do that and youre not used to at a certain time its posible that youre wrist is gonna hurt.
Because you have to position youre hand in a different way to shift the buttons and a point its just gonna hurt,.. at least it did for me. At a point i coulndt even lift heavy stuff with mine hand.,... realy painfull.
Someting else,... you have driven WC in 2003??
Whats youre real name if i may ask,... and did you look at the site,.. im 5th curently
