i was hosting, and i saw Brad chrono dispear like he was a lap down...
If it happend again, keep racing, and will recalculate everything manualy, complicated, but need to bee fair, and replay tell us everything.
No lag for me, except when we did the merge test, was no good at all.. i cant handle 11 car, thats a reality...

It may also help if could install the cracked version of F1C because I know the EXE check happens when going out of the pits (in practice at least) and your delay may be due to the mismatch between EXE versions. Just a guess, but that's the only thing I can see so far...
Please, do it even if it does not help with the lag because the mismatch sends a message to all drivers when you go out of the pits and it is disturbing during the qualifications since the guy in front of you is in his fast lap when you go out...

Well yeah...F1C's netcode is absolutely horrible. I've got 1Mbit upload and I can barely handle 8 or 9 cars without any lag.

i know this has been talked about before, but i have a sneaking suspicion that there are some guys that have programs running other than F1C when they're racing, Messengers and such. Make SURE you close those out BEFORE you start the game guys, it makes a world of difference.

Well thats the 1st question i ask Mike, he said that he shut off all background sofware... He told me that the problem is instantly as he go out of pit, as soon as he get of of his garage...weird, but CD patch woud be first thing to try. Also i think he said that graphic are set to max... nothing to help.
If I can add

Hello
I would also add that
If the server has been up for a while for practice and guys have come in and left and returned. this also seems to create havok in F1 C and we should always close down and reboot the server and our own comps.
Also alot of chat seems to mess up the code This Has been tested many times and has made a diffrence.
And I would also like to make a suggestion
before switching from practice to Qual we need to send out a Rdy call if you will and make sure everyone response and is still able to comunecate.
I have always found that if we all reboot our comp's and come in to practice 4 and go to qual there is about a 90% chance that our grid and our race will go well. Of course there is always that little bit of lag for the first lap or two.
And as Steve said shut that crap MSN Virus Well Ok I said Crap

And you should check your MSN anyway I have mine where it should not sign in on startup but I have found that sometimes it do's and I don't even know it.

Just to add a little bit more .The graphics like full effects and shadows and such should be turned down even if it is only just for race.I tried this online and it helped immensely as I joined the same room twice in a row and the first time with full graphics I had screen flutter and other peoples pings were higher by 30 or 40 on average.Oh ya...MSN sucks too by the way..LOL>...

yea, ive got the graphics turned almost all the way down, and the only thing that runs while i race is my d-link wireless usb adapter, dont have a choice on that one. but it uses very little resources, and my wireless speed is 22mbit, far faster than my isp, so i dont think thats it either. the only other thing, is that i share my connection with my roomate, but i dont think he was even on when i was racing, but he could have been, playing call of duty. cant really do much about that either

Well

Hello
Brad Wrote:

This to me expalins a little of why we see lag with you and not with the others. Even though you are getting that speed a wireless connection will in fact lose a connection as only for a split secound and you might not notice it but the game and the others will. It is inhertly posiable that you could be getting interferance on your wireless durring your online game play.
Example at Canada I was following Carr and all of a sudden we both drove right thru you. It was like you where at a dead stop then after the Hairpin you reapiered in front of Carrara.
A hard wire connection is always better and more reliable the Wireless.
