Are we using Parc Ferme rule?
I dont know how many people have noticed this, but the new MMG SE mod has the Parc Ferme rule built into it - this means once you've completed your qualifying lap your setup is instantly 'locked' and you can't change it or load a different one. This means we will have to qualify with the fuel onboard that we need for the first stint of the race, so the car will be very heavy. We'll also need to set the radiator and brake duct settings before qualifying, otherwise the car won't last the race. You can change a couple of settings after the setup is locked (brake balance, front wing etc) but not a lot.
I'm not sure if there is a way to disable this Parc Ferme rule, so I just wanted to make sure we are using it?

To make it short, the "parc ferme" rule means you have to qualify with your race setup (fuel and all), just like they do in Q3 in real life...

The harder tires take 3 to 4 hard laps to even get to temp. Where the soft get hot faster but do not last as long.
? Is having to use one set of soft tires part of Parc-Ferme

Hi again.
I am not too keen on the idea of parc ferme but will go with it if necessary.For those who are new starters it will mean lots of fuel ,a heavy car,tires not up to temp in 1 lap.Could be a lot of mistakes or it could keep the field closer together.WHo knows.I am one pf those who changes setup often and soemtimes that is bad.IROC 2 years ago at spa I added on 5 to my rear wing at the last second,just to watch everyone leave me behind (sniff).Parc ferme would have stopped that but I still would have lost(just not so badly..LOL).It is both good and bad so either way will suit me fine.At least in parc ferme you can add fuel so that is a plus as well.Its up to the admins but we should all post out opinions.

I dont think we should try to copy the tyre rule (where you have to use both hard and soft tyres during a race) as this would be far too hard to check. You can choose what your tyres look like from the car upgrade page (white stripe or no white stripe) but when you choose different tyres in the actual sessions it doesnt change the look of your tyres accordingly.Hitman wrote: ? I think trying to follow the two tyre rule would be a bit too difficult as you can't really check what each driver has used.

Well I was not suggesting to use the tire rule per say but more to the fact was wondering.
If it was part of it. So no biggy really.
As for using Parc Ferme
It sounds entrusting but I guess it is a matter of how it is implemented.
1. Will we only have one lap and one driver at a time (With a full grid) this could take a lot of time
2. A 10 or 15 minute session (10 Drivers at a time) for warm up tires and fuel burn.
Being what 4 days away from the race
MHO I would stick with what we know and implement P-F for Malaysia.
This will give us
See what we got a race under our belt's with some of the kinks worked out.
Then we can practice and earn the P-F sessions.

i for once think it would be nice to dont have to do two setups and all that....we'll just be a little slower on our Q lap. no biggie. i think its a good idea. and adds more excitement to the race with different fuel loads

That is correct Firefly.
So if you wanted to have 80L of fuel for your first stint of the race you would have to set the fuel to like 85L
I haven't tested it yet but something to that effect.
For AUSTRALIA PARC FERME WON"T be used.
There are things that will have to be tested before we implement this to our qualy session.
After our race this weekend I think it would be a good idea to get some test sessions going.
