3 years contract For Alonso

Post by Flow »

From the German Bild News, Alonso signed for a 3 years contract with Renault, starting in 2008.

Is it true? Could be, but time will say.

Hopefully it is true.

I think it would make for a more interesting championship next season, if there were three teams involved. And I doubt Alonso would be going back to Renault unless he was confident of a decent car.

Plus I'm a bit sick of the Alonso/Hamilton stuff now...

From the same news paper :

"The news of Alonso's likely return to Renault follows reports that Toyota was offering the Spaniard a record retainer to switch to the Japanese giant for 2008."

"The German magazine Sport Bild said the Cologne based team was prepared to fork out (US) $150 million for a three year deal; a comparable amount of money to that earned by Michael Schumacher at Ferrari towards the end of his illustrious career."

Apparently his new contract states that he "must be treated like a God and worshipped at all times. His mechanics and engineers must bow down to him on sight, kiss his feet and polish his helmet till it shines like the stars."

Of course, I'm only joking.

But Fernando isn't.
