Minardi to Champcar

Dec.17 (GMM) Paul Stoddart is expected to announce on Monday that he will bring the famous Minardi name to America's Champ Car scene in the 2007 season.

Champ Car has organised a teleconference for "an ownership announcement regarding one of its teams," amid speculation that Stoddart, the controversial former F1 team owner, has bought the CTE Racing-HVM squad.

Australian Stoddart, 51, bought Minardi just before the 2001 grand prix season and sold the Faenza-based team to Red Bull late last year.

And gues whats the line up will be.

I think champcar will be a nice champ to watch out for next year. From what i heard the new champcar will be 2 secs faster then it used to be and with F1 going slower it will come much closer to eachoter in laptimes.

Gonna be fun.

Yeah, but if im right, is it only Montreal were ChampCart share same track? OUPS no, ChampCar lost the use of Montreal track after 2006 season, they will race at 1-2 hours north of Montreal (Mont tremblant, and that track exist on Racecentral). To bad, that the only place that would alow us to compare F1 wiht Champcar pace time is no more possible...

Paul Stodart took the control of CTE Racing-HVM Team in Champcar and renamed it to Minardi Team USA for the 2007 season.
