I'm back!

Post by Ferdi »

Hey hey hey!!

How are you guys?
Well, I missed racing so I joined NAR again and I will start after the summerbreak :)

I just have a question, What kinda steering wheel should I buy? I had an Microsoft Sidewinder FF wheel but is now broken (after 4 years, not bad ha?). I'm thinking to buy the same steering wheel again because I liked it. Any suggestions?

Greetz,
Ferdi

PS. Great looking website!!!

wow dude, thats tough hehe. coming here, doing the 1st post after ages, telling that your wheel broke ... after 4 years  ... and asking for what wheels we suggest ....

and that with such a smile on your face ...Image

HAHAHA ... nope, thats not bad, hihihihihihi!!!!!!!!!!!

ok here we go:

1. whatever you do and if you get it for free DON'T TAKE THE THRUSTMASTER F1!!!!!!!!!

 http://forumserver.zapto.org/NAR/viewto ... 35f9#10268

2. if you are not going to use a lot of buttons on your wheel, you can have a look at a link emac gave me. He said they are very good to drive!

 http://www.thomas-superwheel.com/

I am not really sure about it, because you can allready read this on their homepage:
Warranty Information

The TSW and TSW2 are the only sim-racing controllers with a Lifetime Warranty. The only parts not included in the lifetime warranty are the potentiometers. Potentiometers have only a 90 day warranty. If you ever have a problem with your TSW you can send it back to us and we will promptly repair it and send it back to you, or we will ship you the necessary parts to fix the problem yourself. In addition, we have a 30 day money back guarantee. If you are unsatisfied with the TSW for any reason, you can return it within 30 days of receipt for a full refund minus shipping costs.
if you ask me it sounds not like you will not have any problems with it, hihihi.

3. dp has a BRD and this is the wheel I will go for!

 http://www.interactiveracing.com/Steeri ... ls/Speed7/

I will ask for the releasedate of their PRO V9
Image

If you ask me, I trust more in the BRD...

... than in a Thomas-Superwheel lol.

Hello Ferd
Welcome back long time know see  Shit now I really miss driving with the euro boys.

Sorry to here about your wheel they don't make the MS FF anymore although you might do a search on ebay or amazon might find one there.

Other wise except for the higher price wheels everthing else is crap.
IMHO

Good to have you back

Thx for your replies guys. BRD is to expensive for me, looks like it is a proffesional wheel and I'm not that proffesional hehe.

I bought one. It's called the Logitech momo FF. Good one? It's still in the box and will try it this week.. hehe.

Hey Ferdi! welcome back m8 :D

About a wheel to buy.... Nowadays I really don't see any model I'd like to buy.... I'm actually on my second MSFF wich I repair every 30 days lol

Double shifting is the main problem with this model.

Anyway nice to see you back with us but...just a question...

Can you host our races ? Just joking around the situation...

Welcome back Ferdi

Hi Bigmac,

About hosting, I can try. I have 5000 Kbit/sec down and 600 kbit/sec up.
I think because my upstream isn't that fast it will have some probs... but we could try (if you want).

BTW, do I need to install the MOD (v1.1) or just Rh2004?

Greetz,
Ferdi

PS. I just did some laps... . I allways was a rookie but now I need some driving lessons... :? :?

Hey Ferdi 600 Kb/s upstream can help us actually if it's consistant speed.

About the install you just need RH04 v1.04 + trackpack

then the NOCD.exe

and a small tool called F1 manipulator to equalize all cars to ferrari 2004

get it there : http://www.sassenfeld.de/software/f1man/f1man_e.html

Cya on track

Of course, you are most welcome to install the NAR2005 v1.1 mod if you ever plan to drive with your North American friends. Unlike last season, there are no known side-effects to having this year's mod installed, it's now totally independent of RH03 or 04 or anything else and it's easy to install.

Yo ferdi m8,
Welcome back,
4 years on a sidewinder is pretty damn good.I still have mine after 3 years and it still works fine except for new pedals .I switched to the momo wheel but I would not recommend it as it has its problems as well with a few flaws. If you can afford the BRD wheel go for it m8.Its definately the one to get.
