USF1 - Will F1 have a women in a seat? Maybe!

Post by Flow »

MADRID - I read (in french news here in Canada) that USF1 will be a F1 team in 2010. Danica Patrick is one that will be consider to driver an F1.
The USF1 team will have a budget of $80 000 000 (CAN). Their intention is to have 2 USA driver.

We will see if tha team just search publicity or if it is a serious news.

Hello
I read about this too Flow
And I hope it come together
But Danica P in a F1 car humm don't know about that one.
She can drive and she is hot but I don't think she is good enough myself.
She did not do very well in Champcar Road courses but she is doing well in indy ovals.

Oh well time will tell

I wonder what they mean by a American driver
Born in America or a Citizen of the USA
If it is a citizen then Juan Pablo could get in.
I know but the man can drive.
Plus it would really piss off the likes of the McLarens

For the record, women in F1 are not a first...

As much as I'd like that there were more women in racing (F1 in particular), I find it sad when it's happening for the wrong reasons. For example, as reported from F1-Live.com, Ken Anderson (one of the principals of that team-to-be) started his commentary about Danica with "She's great, she gets a lot of press." Translation: who cares if she can drive as long as we get exposure. Sad, really. If all they wanted was some hot chick in a racing suit, they might as well go for Milka Duno. She'd just fit in with all the pit babes...

I think it would be VERY good new if JPM were to come back with a vengeance but he's not doing too bad in NASCAR and he has repeatedly claimed his lack of interest in any return to F1 and having too much fun in NASCAR (which is probably true as he actively disliked all the off-track obligations of F1 drivers).

Hello
Yea I agree Bilbo
If all they want is a hot chick that gets press then there are more then a 100.000 better looking babes out there.

I don't watch Nascar My Son in law do's and he say's JPM is doing very well so I doubt he would leave but it would be entrusting if he did.

I would also hope that if there is a usa team that that would help to lead the way for 1 or 2 f1 races in North America.
Montreal yes but find somewhere else other then indy MHO. But if that is the only place then ok but look elsewhere first.

If they return to USA, I WANT it to be in Indy, because it is just a 4 hour drive from me, hehe, I keep kickin' myself in the ass for not going to see the F1 boys there a few times... And hey, Danica can drive, I'm not saying she'll challenge the big boys in F1, but hey, most of the drivers IN F1 don't challenge them either.....There are maybe 5 or 6 drivers that have a legitimate shot of winning in F1, and that is a bit of a shame. Hopefully the new rules and car designs will change that..
I may be slow, but at least I'm consistantly slow !
