The qualifying session will be slightly different next week at the French Grand Prix. The final qualifying session will not be, as it used to be, 20 minutes, but cut short into 15 minutes of action.
The first two knockout rounds in qualifying were already 15 minutes, but the final ten drivers fighting for pole position used to have 20 minutes. For the fans the 20 minutes of fuel burning wasn't too interesting to watch and thus it has been decided to take off five minutes of action.
I think it is a good change......it's is only during the final 7-8 minutes that things are happening anyway during that last session. The first 12-13 minutes they are just cruising on 90% speed.....*zzz*....*zzz*......
IMO they could cut it down to 10 minutes....stop wasting time and fuel....think of the environment damnit!

Discussion about the Friday practice session day, changes to private test session. This would not have any effect on the race, so we might see more car on track on friday, instead of only 3rd driver to save engine and tire for the 1st and 2nd driver. This day would have more activity for fan on site, pit visiting and authographe seance with driver. (Actualy in Montreal we already have that, duno if they do it at other track, but tuesday is the day of Open pit line, free to visit by any. In the same news, BWM was ask to rigid more his upper part of back wing, that some said was flexible on high speed, No penality, FIA just ask them to do some modification.
Officilay, qualification session are change fror France. 3x15 minutes. And all session are completed untill all driver complete his fast lap, even after the session is close.
The close park after qualif and before race was only to add fuel, now they are alowed to take off fuel also.
For 2007, no more 3rd driver on track, only the 2 official drivers.
