i bought it last week, havnt really had enough time to test it properly but it seems good!
More towards a real feel, i think the bumps on the tracks add a lot as well...damn hard with the renault 3.5s :P
I think it will get sorted once i have a decent setup!

i really struggle with my graphic settings though, i suspect i'll have to turn down the environment stuff cause right now its not running smooth and looks worse than the old rfactor :P

anyone about to throw up a server? would be nice to see you guys on track, its been a while...

ill show up as tobias engström ooor...coffemachine i think

off to test some now!

I made some quick tests with my server last night but I kept getting "Synchronizing" messages every 5 seconds or so, even though the server is just one room away and pings were 2-3ms, so there's something strange going on that I'll try to investigate more tonight... :(

Sorry about the trouble, I know my ISP had connection issues for a few hours yesterday, maybe they did today too (solar flares?). Everything looks fine as I write this, I just tested it (for what it's worth).

As a side note, there were a dozen people together on the server this weekend; it's been a long time since it last was that popular! It's too bad that they were gone when I checked... 8) I didn't see any complaints in the logs nor excessive lag when I was online with other people so I think it looks good. The only issue is that sometimes the connection with the matchmaker drops and it does not reconnect by itself, so while I check it at least once a day, feel free to send me a note if you don't see the "NAR Practice" server in the game browser...

Ok, PC gurus, last night, I got a virus, it messed up Win 7 AND XP, I can still get on XP, I tried reinstalling Win 7, but it gets to a certain point, and gives an error about not being able to create a boot sector or something like that. Any ideas? I have two hard drives, one for XP, and one for Win 7, if that helps...

There's a setting in some BIOSes that prevents the boot sector from being written to, if you're lucky that's what's interfering with your OS installation. Just disable the setting (sometimes called something like "Anti-Virus" or so) and try again. If you're unlucky, you may have caught a BIOS virus which is not so easy to get rid of...

Good luck!

Wouldn't that have prevented me from installing the first time? Not doubting you, but hey, it's worth a shot, haha

Well, you could have changed it after the original installation and forgotten about it... That happens even to the best!

http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/3 ... e-Build-60 <----- first update, seems to help some with FPS, and others , not, it DID help me. Bilbo, hopefully you will update soon, so those of us that have updated can use your server. I believe you have to update both the game, AND the dedicated server.

Oh, and I was able to install Win 7. When I installed it the first time, I had to use a program called EasyBCD to update the boot file so I could also boot into XP, I deleted that partition, and tried installing, and it went smooth as silk.

BTW, for those who are shy of using their real name online, the latest version of rF2 defaults to using your nickname online, unless the server actually disallows it (in which case your real name is still used). The NAR server allows nicknames.

There have been 2 updates in the past few days, plus a new track, and two Nissans, the GT-R and the 370Z, check the ISI forums for downloads. ( These are official ISI cars and tracks )

Thanks for the info, Steve. I saw the first update but the general consensus seemed to be that it was better not to update yet. I'll install everything a bit later today. Anybody has preferences between the Godzilla, the Z or do we stay with the Meganes?
